In my humble opinion Bradberry has been better than Slay this season and should have gotten the nod, but many pro-bowlers make it on reputation.

This year. And from watching the film Seumalo has played at least as well as Dickerson, maybe better.

Unfortunately Hurts’ contract will force the Eagles to let go of a few contributors in FA - would expect that Cox and Seumalo depart, Sanders and maybe Hargrove too - Davis, Milton Williams and a high draft pick along with Linval if he wants to come back or Tuipolotu/Marvin Wilson would hopefully be fine, though I’d bring back Hargrave if I could.

Maybe if Cox departs and Kelce retires, they can keep Bradbury and Hargrave. As good as CGJ has been at safety, Blankenship has looked good too and is dirt cheap for several more years.

Will be an interesting offseason…let’s hope it is in the wake of another Super Bowl win!

Could someone explain to me why it is now assumed that Hurts will most likely not win the MVP? Does missing one or even two games automatically disqualify him?

Its been a fun season, hopefully they do win the Super Bowl this year because it will be tough to reload next year with all of the pending free agents, especially on defense.

It just costs him some ground in a close race is all, with a tie, at least for some voters, going to the more established QB who played more games on an equally good offense. Mahomes already leads the league in QBR and passing yards (Hurts is just 10th though of course he also has all the running yards/TDs). Missing two games will cost Hurts symbolically in the counting stats as well (he won't get 4,000 passing yards or 900 rushing).

It's funny to think we are worried about reloading/repeating this success. A year ago I would have said this was still a transitional season. Hard not to think Howie will find a way, especially with the draft picks (and no need to take a QB in the first round).

Sadly I just don't think Sanders is worth the money. Cox is not worth what he will get. Hargrave, I think it would be buying very high for a guy likely to decline now.

Graham, very sorry to see him go, but he is declining. Edwards is honestly just an average LB that we funnel tackles to. He may not get many offers, and they will all be overpriced.

Hurts is going to jump up $40M / year in cost.

I think several early mock drafts already have the Eagles taking an RB to replace Sanders.

The question is really going to be so we keep rolling our extra first round pick to the next year or finally use the capital.

I would be very tempted to trade down the Saints pick to late in the first round and add a 1st in 2024 or 2025 and a second in each year also.

We are going to have needs due to FA leaving and some retirements or near retirements (Cox, Graham, Kelce, Johnson).

A lot depends on where that Saints pick ends up, it could be top ten or in the 20s if they win the division. Go Bucs! Go Panthers. Go Falcons! Everything Howie has done the last two years seems to have turned to gold, but he has always been good at getting good value when he trades draft picks, so I trust if he has the opportunity to pull something off it will be good value, and if he doesn't make a trade it just wasn't there.

I know this is just your usual Cassandra stuff and it's frustrating the game was there for the taking (and that that play and all the turnovers happened) but a close loss on the road to a top team with your back-up QB in a game what wasn't truly must-win.

Now both teams have lost a game without their QB. Only the next one (and that it's in Philadelphia) matters.

I think you probably play Hurts next week? Then he can get two full weeks off. But also hard to think they couldn't beat the Saints with Minshew (or even Book). You don't want that Giants game to mean anything (for either team).

I had no problem with the offense behind a backup QB and the Eagles O set for the very different play of Hurts. Although, the O has become way too dependent upon dangerous runs by Hurts, which will shorten his career. Last week, Fields got clobbered by our pass rush when he passed, but his runs were far safer than the Hurts runs. My problem was with the defense, which is again ineffective against a good QB. Also, the injuries are a worry going forward.

Lane Johnson out with an abdominal tear - out for the rest of the regular season. Maddox with a boot on after the game, haven't seen a report indicating how long he is out.
