The Cowboy team looked pretty good against the Colts last night. Of course, the Eagles looked good against the Titans as well.

That is part of the reason I wanted the Titans to get Tanneyhill out of there. We might need them to win, and it is a winnable game for them, but if we had taken Tanneyhill out for the year it would have been harder (Willis is really a year away at least with his passing).

The team that I saw yesterday isn't losing to the Giants, even in New Jersey.

The team we saw the last two weeks isnt losing to the 85 Bears. That said, that isnt the team that shows up every week, and we have some real depth problems in some positions (TE, Safety, RB, CB?, RB?,. QB). If we lose a player or two in the wrong position we might very quickly be vulnerable.

Of course, the Cowboys are even less deep, so it goes both ways.

bkeich, there is no "y" in Tannehill! If you want him to play his best against the 'Boys, you've got to give him proper respect!

One could argue that the 9? Offensive line penalties should give us reason to doubt. But, the amazing part was that they almost completely overcame those penalties. Once Goeddart returns they will be unstoppable plus, it looks like they finally found someone who can return punts.

Saints up on Bucs 16-3 with 3 minutes left and lose 17-16. Huge result for the Eagles 1st rounder next year since the biggest risk to that pick is the Saints winning the division. Bucs (6-6) Falcons (5-8) Panthers (4-8) Saints (4-9) look like the 2020 NFC EAST where the 7-9 WFT's won the division.

There were no criminal charges against punt god Matt Araiza, I hope the Eagles pounce and grab him.

The optics (and possible NFL discipline?) aside I imagine they will prefer a veteran and/or someone who has already punted in the NFL this season.

Former all-pro Brett Kern is supposedly visiting the Eagles today. I believe the reporters said he is likely the best available right now.

And good injury news on the other players who left the game, with the injuries being less severe and with less expected downtime than we feared when they left the game.

According to the experts at Puntalytics, former Titans punter Brett Kern is probably the best veteran available. He was released during roster cutdowns this summer and has not punted since, so who knows how ready he would be. Presumably, the opportunity to jump on board a potential Super Bowl-bound team this late in the season would be enticing. Other options include Kevin Huber (recently released by the Bengals), Jordan Berry and Joseph Charlton. The Eagles have worked out several punters this season, though most of them seem to have been for the purpose of showing Philadelphia a left-footed punter in the days leading up to playing against a left-footed punter. One imagines the Eagles, given their strengths, would trade steadiness for upside with reliable holding a prerequisite.

Brett Kern, former Titans' punter and 3-time pro-bowler, signed to stand in for Siposs, who is out indefinitely. Has been inactive all season, so might be a bit rusty...

Siposs is fairly below average, thus honestlybisnt much of a loss if any. It just hasn't been a problem, but theee might have been a few guys on the street that might be an upgrade.

They are already one of the most aggressive teams on 4th down in the league. I wouldn't want to push them further... Only Browns, Lions, and Jags go for it more frequently.

Kerns is a good lifetime punter, cut for money reasons. He probably is better than Siposs right now. The Eagles are also bringing back Anthony Harris for some safety help with Gardner Johnson still on IR and Blankenship banged up. Neither move is officially announced yet as they'll have to make some IR or other roster moves to fit Kern and Harris in.

So they signed Harris and Kern to the practice squed, which means they can be called up for the next three games without having to put Blankenship and Siposs in IR.
