Nobody is more critical of JJAW than I, but look at what he did on the 2 pt conversion. He absolutely stood up a CB and created the hole that resulted in a successful 2 pt conversion. Guy is not an NFL WR, but it isn’t lack of effort.

I disagree, give out as many bad penalties as you have to if it reduces even one of those hits per year. That looked really scary and he was being hit from both sides too.

I just don’t know how the defender avoids it other than letting him go. And he couldn’t know that someone was going to knock him forward like that before he committed to hitting him.

I agree, it was ugly and I hope the guy is ok, but was it avoidable without just pulling up and hoping someone else tackles him.

On “and one” plays every time, including the game ending one, we had only 4 down lineman. Each time the QB sneak worked because our DL was outnumbered and they easily let the QB drive forward.

Certainly on the last one you had to bring in the goal line D and hope they didn’t throw. Letting them just fall forward for 2 yards could never work.

Well, yeah, I think you answered your own question. I know this is not a straighforward thing, and you can't take the risk out a physical sport, but if you can't make the play without potentially causing a head injury/taking the penalty, you shouldn't make the play. Just the same as a late hit you can't pull up on. Either way the other team gets yards.

I disagree with this. The player was hit from behind and his head majorly dipped. The defender went exceptionally low and it shouldn't have been an issue. Even if you lead with your shoulder this would have resulted in head contact because of the contact before the hit.

Unfortunately, now we are looking at the very strong possibility of a 1-3 start. At Dallas and then KC, both games we will be underdogs.

I am not surprised it was called, but don't think it should be a penalty. There is no way to assume his head would have been in that location when going for the hit.

The early schedule was always going to be a significant hurdle. The failing today was that Hurts and the WRs could not take advantage of the bad cornerbacks for SF. And the trick play failing.

The last thing that anyone should want with the NFL is for the referees to have any leeway in making calls. It should be black and white with them. They do too much improv with rules as it is. The NFL is the worst officiated league in sports.

It would end up being 10 minutes of replay per game, as it already is in college. They certainly can't figure it out there either. I guess the question is, has it cut down on the hits/injuries?

Hate to say this, really do.

I have watched every play of all 4 teams in our division this season. The Giants and Washington are both terrible.

The Eagles are young and my fear about the coaching staff learning in the job showed today with some odd decisions. They have some players, the defense looks good, but the offense really has a long way to go. I think Hurts will be good, but it is going to take time, he isn’t even an average QB throwing the ball yet. The talent is there.

Sadly Dallas is very good. Their defense is going to stop them from being great, but unfortunately their offense is elite. The division is theirs for the taking if they can keep Dak on the field.

You are projecting your preconceived opinions. The Eagles do have to grow into a good team. The Cowboys may very well beat them, but haven't looked that great even though they have a plethora of talent.

I don’t know. Barely lost to what is probably the best team in the league and then beat the Chargers (close). Unfortunately that seems like a pretty good team.

They pretty much have no holes on offense, Elliot looked good today and Pollard is a weapon. Their WR are elite and Gallup isn’t even playing. The whole thing is based on Dak staying healthy, that is the only “single point of failure” that I see.

Mike McCarthy is a horrible coach that won 1 SB because he had an elite QB, when Rodgers should have won multiple. Yes the Cowboys are talented, but there is a good chance that the Eagles have better coaching.
