There is no way I would just give up on Reagor. There is talent there, he just isnt a #1 WR, but we dont really need him to be. Put him in better positions to succeed, clean up the obvious holes in the WR ranks (JJAW) and bring in a veteran leader for that "room" that can mentor him a little bit and I think he may be a solid #2 / #3 kinda guy. Ward is not the veteran WR to lead the group, he is just trying to hold on to a job at this point, and my guess is that it is time to move on from him.
The bottom of our roster is terrible. We have a few players that really are not NFL Players, we need better backups to push for playing time and provide relief for the starters. We need a ton of quality on defense, we had a starting lineup that was solid, but the backups were atrocious on the field (except maybe the DL). Add depth in the secondary, even as high draft picks that are fighting to take over and add just a ton of talent in LBs because we have almost none. The DL is getting old very fast, we really need help there.
I wouldnt add any more youth to the WR ranks, we already have too much. We could also use another veteran QB just to help Hurts develop, it isnt Minshew, he wants to play (and I dont blame him). Maybe Flacco will come back again.
We are returning 1 starting DB, we need to add there first, whether it be in the draft (at least 1 spot) or through FA./trades. Most of the draft capital should go to the defense, that is where we need youth and talent the most, but that said I would still trade one of the 1st round picks for a 3rd this year and a 1st next year, we need the extra pick for a couple drafts.
Sadly, I think the playoff appearance makes it seem like this is a team on the rise, but the truth is our defense is on the verge of collapse. We return high end talent, but most of it is very old (Cox, Graham, even Slay), we dont have the guys in the prime of their career. We need a ton of talent on defense, we are returning very little. The offense really just needs to grow together, we need time and just a little better play calling, but Sirianni deserves credit for adapting. Unfortunately, we also need a few young OL to be ready to step in when Kelce, Johnson and Brooks all call it a career, which could be very soon. I would use one 1st or 2nd round pick on the OL.
Gannon either needs to learn that it isnt 1990 or he needs to go. He was one of the worst DC I have ever seen. His play calling was just frankly stupid. No one was fooled, ever, on one play but what he was doing. No disguise, no deception, the QB knew before the snap every single time what the Eagles were doing. It led to us giving up an amazing 69.4% completion percentage (highest in NFL history??) when we were wildly lucky and faced backups almost half the time. We were only 25th in the league in QB rating against, but that is because the QBs we played where terrible normally, we were actually the worst defense by alot really.
With all the money we spent on the DL, we were 31st in sacks, mostly because we rushed 4 guys 87% of the time (by far the most in the NFL). Play after play the OL could walk up to the line and say "you have him, you have him, we have 5 to block 4" without much threat of a surprise. Gannon should never have survived the season, but he certainly should not survive the offseason without a Sirianni-like realization that his plan isnt working.
