My guess is that you are correct, but he will have to fill some holes with 1 year deals on older players, someone like Vinny Curry or the like.
Howie has never done this in my memory, but I wonder if he wont be moving some draft picks forward, i.e. using a 3rd round pick from next year to get a 4th rounder this year. We have been on the other ends of some of those deals, but I wouldnt be surprised to see us take a large number of mid round picks this year, even more than we have now.
There is talk about him moving up, but I would almost guess he would move back and pick up an extra 3rd rounder (or so). We have a fair number of open roster spots, we may have an abnormal number of rookies / draft picks this year.
The one that everyone is forgetting is Genard Avery. He doesnt show up in any discussions, but clearly we had some type of plan for the guy. I wonder if he isnt going to be some type of DE/LB hybrid with his athleticism. It was a weird pickup as he was a complete failure last year, but clearly this was done with some type of plan.
You think we will resign Bruce Hector so we can trade him to another team and then resign him when he gets cut. We only did that twice last year, there are still 29 other teams that will give us someone off the bottom of their roster for him.
