Color me unconvinced by a tape recorded pro-day. Yes, they could have cheated. His combine numbers were pretty abysmal for cone drill and shuttle and not at all impressive on 40-yard, plus he has small arms, hands, and is short. Not noted for sure hands. It's a big gamble. To explain his increased speed by a 8# weight loss seems a stretch. If they can't fudge the time on the 40-yard, can they fudge the distance?

It likely won't happen, but if the Eagles could trade up and get Xavier McKinney I would be a lot less upset...

The guy timing the pro day was not a "friend" of Reagor's, it was Miller McCalmon, a highly respected former pro scouting director. Why would he cheat? And Reagor ran a laser-timed 4.34-second 40 during training. He's plenty fast. Besides, I can use timing software on the video to check the "pro-day" time, as I'm sure the Eagles did. And you can check the distance easily, too, on a tape. It just doesn't make sense for McCalmon to be part of a misrepresented work-out.

It does seem like they could have traded down, but probably not that much. I gotta admit ESPN made Aiyuk sound interesting.

So the Eagles taking Reagor cost me my free $15 bet on Jefferson going higher than 21.5, but that was only going to pay $7.50 (albeit with no risk). I bet $5 real money to win $7.50 on the over 5.5 receivers.

Betting on whether there would be more Alabama or LSU players would have been a fun one.

Will be fun to follow the Penn State guys tomorrow.

So, for tomorrow, if they can't trade up for McKinney, I'd look at S Jeremy Chinn or Grant Delpit if either are available at 53 and with the "speed" receiver taken, I'd lake to see Chase Claypool fall to them in the 3rd round, maybe they could package one of the extra 4th rounders to trade up in the 3rd to get him.

I think Claypool is too much what they already have in Ertz and Goddert. he's a hybrid WR/TE who will probably not play outside in the NFL. Much rather have Antonio Gibson if we are drafting hybrid players.

I think Claypool could work well with Reagor and Jackson, but another receiver I wouldn't mind is Van Jefferson, he's at least 6' 2", I don't know that the Eagles could get by with two 5'11" receivers outside, they needs a younger version of Alshon for the second outside and play Reagor at slot, where he could pile up yards after catch.

According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, a franchise asked Reagor to record himself at a pro day and send the team his footage. With the majority of individual workouts canceled because of the coronavirus pandemic, Reagor and his camera crew found a way to make it work.
After weighing in at 197.6 pounds—down from 206 pounds at the combine—Reagor had a few coaches run him through drills.
Miller McCalmon, a former assistant pro scouting director for the Detroit Lions and Houston Texans, clocked the wideout's 40-yard dash at 4.28 seconds, while private trainer Danny Arnold's stopwatch read 4.22 seconds.
Reagor ran a 4.47-second 40-yard dash in Indianapolis. His pro-day attempt would've ranked as the fastest time at the combine, beating Henry Ruggs III's mark of 4.27 seconds.
In the short shuttle, McCalmon recorded Reagor at 3.97 seconds, while Arnold's clock read 4.04 seconds. At the combine, Reagor ran the drill in 4.46 seconds."

They can't be cheating on the timing because they have it on film, too. I think he's plenty fast on tape. He was my favorite trade-up target in round 2. Probably would not have made it that far. He has a higher ceiling than Jefferson, but Jefferson is more polished and will be ready to go day one. They are gambling that the awful QB play at TCU held back his production significantly. They could be right.

Well, it was late and I didnt really do much looking. Good to see that he isnt as slow as that clocking, which is still concerning. Watching some game film, I agree, he seems fast.

For a 1st round pick I guess I would still have liked to see more, he is small with small hands. I know he was "moving up" but didnt we take him about 10-15 spots early? Especially with a more steady Jefferson still on the board, a big body guy that could be more of a fit of what we need at the moment (in my opinion).

Hopefully he is an apprentice to DJax and has some of his success (without some of his younger personality issues). I guess I was just hoping for a more complete player, he clearly has some flaws, of course one would have also said that about DJax and that was a pretty good pick (although 2nd round).

Hopefully today we go Safety and LB, but best available is ok also. At least on ABC (Kiper) McKinney (Safety) was the Best Available when we picked at 21 and he is still on the board, so yes, I would love to see us move up to the next pick, throw in a 4th (or whatever) and get him also. That would be a GREAT need pick.

i think they go LB in the 2nd and then get a pretty good older corner with one of their 3rd rounders.

My big fear now is that the Eagles beating the Cowboys and making the playoffs will become known as the CeeDee Lamb Bowl. We won the game, they got the better player in our desperate need position (they really didnt have a need at WR but took best available).

Good news is that it almost certainly means that Michael Gallup will not be a Cowboy past this contract.

There is no LB that is worth a 2nd round pick. The value in the second round is either another WR if someone like Mims or Higgins falls, or S where McKinney, Winfield, Delpit and Chinn are all 2nd round talent.

They also only have 1 3rd round pick left (103). They have 3 4ths, a 5th and a 6th left.

I like Hurts and think he can help but they could have picked up the Virginia QB later. This makes little sense when you consider other needs.
