Eagles Sign Orlando Scandrick back and release LJ Fort. I assume that doesn’t net us the4th round pick anymore, but I guess someone had to go.

It still gets us a compensatory 4th back, as long as Fort or Sendejo were released by week 10.

Eagles trade S Jonathan Cyprien and a 2020 7th to Atlanta for LB Duke Riley and a 2020 6th.

The Eagles are giving up a league-worst 323.8 passing yards per game through four games. Only two other teams are giving up more than 300 a game – the Bucs (318.3) and the Ravens (302.0). The Eagles are on pace to give up 5,292-passing yards, which would shatter the current league record for most passing yards allowed in a season (4,796 by the 2011 Packers).
--The Eagles have a league-low three sacks and 16 quarterback hits through four games. They have just three players with 10 or more quarterback pressures – Brandon Graham (0 sacks, 3 hits, 23 hurries), Fletcher Cox (0 sacks, 3 hits, 17 hurries) and Derek Barnett (1 sack, 5 hits, 8 hurries). Through four games last season, Cox only had one more total pressure than he has now, but it included three sacks and five hits.

We’ve spent all our money and draft equity on the dline which in return has lead to an untalented secondary (even before the injuries). The fact that the expensive dline hasn’t gotten pressure on opposing QBs, means that our untalented secondary is getting your head. A recipe for disaster.

Eagles sleepwalk through a 31-6 trouncing of the Jets to move to 3-2. 10 sacks and 2 defensive TDs. Offense played down to the competition. Minnesota next up on the schedule.

Shame we can’t play the Jets every week, but we do get to play the Redskins and Giants 3 more times.

The next 5 games are very tough. The one easy game in this stretch was the Bills, which may not be so easy after all.

I hate the idea of our corners against Minnesota’s WR, hopefully they will not have a good QB.

Even without Malik Jackson we are really shutting down running games. Maybe we should consider the Buddy Ryan “you gets bonus if you take out the QB” days

The Eagles offense was not clicking yesterday, seemed to struggle to get into any real rhythm. The defense, however, feasted on a really, really bad offense. Not sure there's anything to extrapolate from that.

How bad were the Jets yesterday?

David Fales attempted to throw one pass, but was sacked for a 7 yard loss. That was a QBR of 3.2
Overall Luke Falk had a QBR of 1.8.

Which means that the 7 yard sack was a better play than the average play with Falk. That's impressively bad.

Eagles place Clements on IR (done for the season) and promote Boston Scott. I think it is fair to say we are now looking for a RB at the deadline. Pumphrey still unemployed?

Shame for Clements, he looked like such a steal as a undrafted FA, but he has been bad this year in almost everything touched. Probably not bad to give him a chance to clear his head a little and get back to what he was doing so well a few years ago.

Clement could come back after eight weeks, which would be before the season ends, it really depends on how healthy he is at that time, and what other roster moves Howie makes.

Has Clement done anything well this year? I think his Eagles career is over.

He hasn't been right all year. Maybe he gets better in 8 weeks, maybe he won't be ready until next training camp, but he is valuable, we saw how good he was in 2017 with Sproles out. This has to be Sproles last year, so you'll need Clement next year.

I want to be sad that we didnt get Jalen Ramsey, but 2 1st round picks and a 4th is simply WAY too high a price. I do wish we had made the deal with the Rams for Peters, but I suspect they were avoiding trading him in conference.

Somehow we have to find some healthy, quality CBs, what we have is being badly exposed.

Agreed, but given that the Eagles are .500 in what is appearing to be a mediocre division, I'm not sure this is the season to mortgage the future to win the present.
