Lots of positives to take from that game considering the lack of offensive options available. Wentz probably did enough to win that game on his own and Agholor has to make the catch down the left sideline. The throw as he was falling to his knees was incredible.

Concerns about the lack of sacks and QB hits in the first two games, this was supposed to be a strength right?

That is not a remotely difficult call for an official to make. We were robbed. it's tempting to say the fix was in. With gambling having become such a big $ part of NFL sports, it's very conceivable that the fix was quite literally in. This is happening in the open field. How can this call possibly be missed?

Yes, it is a slippery slope. Sports betting, legal and not, is a huge business.

Correct. No arguments there. But, to assume that the refs cheated w/o any evidence to that effect, based only on what seems to be, in retrospect, a blatantly obvious missed call, is taking it too far.

I didn't assume that the refs cheated. What I said was that with the increased pervasiveness of sports betting it was conceivable, when totally obvious, blatant, game-deciding calls are missed. I also think that the NFL needs to do better with/change their officiating.

I don't think that, what to me seem like bigger officiating problems this season are coincidence, the derive from a deliberate decision made by the NFL.

Regarding the refs, Tom Brady tweeted at half time that he turned off the game last night because the amount penalties were ridiculous, then there were no penalties in the 3rd Quarter. Wonder if the league said something to the refs?

Can't go against Brady and his public megaphone. This seems to be labor relations. NFL had been moving strongly toward full-time refs, but reversed this year and is back to all part-time refs. In days gone by, the NFL only played one day a week, and people believed that mid-to-upper-level businessmen and lawyers were totally honest and trustworthy. We've learned that isn't the case.

Really, I didn’t know mid to upper level businessmen were referees because they were assumed to be honest. I would pick professionals and pay them well. People whose wor k is money seeking like lawyers and businessmen, are the most likely t o take money under the table, particularly when it’s not their day job.

I Eagles will be short WR this week.

Promoted Greg Ward and unfortunately put Maliata on IR. I was hoping he would get some playing time this year but i guessing being hurt and at the bottom of the depth chart got him.

I don’t know that Maliata can be carried on the roster again next year if he isn’t at least Johnson and Dillard’s primary backup and maybe have the flexibility to play guard. Would be a shame to lose him but I fear that may be where we are headed, he might be a very, very good player.

Well obviously I’m not insulting lawyers, that’s family and friends. The viewpoint is just so eighteenth century patrician. Working people can’t be trusted to be honest, we need noble gentlemen? Ugh.

Terrible loss this week, losing at home to Detroit. Wentz wasn't great but, once again, fumbles, dropped balls, missed calls by the refs, and no real QB pressure by the defense did them in.

Upcoming Thursday night in GB and then an absolute killer schedule.

I'd be shocked if the Eagles make the playoffs.

The spend a lot of money and draft picks on the defensive front doesn't work if they cant get any pressure on the QB

The schedule actually isn't too bad after Green Bay. Lots of people had them 2/2 or 1/3 after 4 games and then going on a run. But if the Cowboys are real they are digging a serious hole.

Losing both Malik Jackson and Tim Jernigan has hurt; I agree that the lack of QB pressure is concerning. Not sure what the solution is for that problem; I think the other issues will improve as we get some of our injured skill players back.
