Mike Scott fighting eagle fans was a rather bad look for him and the eagles...did the fans really bring a coffin for Sean Taylor?

LOL, there is a big internet uproar because the Redskins scoring with 6 seconds left actually meant that they covered on bets (9.5pt spread). People are upset the Eagles didnt stop them. Gee, my degree of concern is ... well, zero.

I like sports gambling and it's the future of sports of sports media, but it does seem really weird for journalistic outlets to cover "bad beats" in a way that makes it seem like the coaches and players should be conscious of the spread. We've seen this with fantasy too of course.

Anyone who lost money on the Eagles yesterday lost it in the first half, not on the meaningless TD.

Genuine Oddity:

The Redskins had 15 first downs in the game on Sunday. All of them were in the passing game.

Neither team had a first down due to penalty despite a total of 18 accepted penalties.

DeSean Jackson now has 31 TD receptions of 50+ yards, trailing only Jerry Rice (who else?) with 36. It could this will eventually be the only receiving record Jerry Rice doesnt hold.

I think Bruce Hector might have a slight edge, sorry...

I actually think they'll be fine with Jernigan and bringing Hector up from the practice squad as your 4th guy. What they may be scouring the earth for is another pass rusher, because Jackson was going to stay on the field on 3rd downs, mostly why Long retired. Now they are going to probably move Graham or Curry inside in their "Nascar" package, but without someone as good as Long to rush from the outside. Maybe they dress Hall this week and give him a shot.

Well, it is also game 1. We have also lost depth, Jackson is a very, very good player, now we are replacing him with an ok player and everyone else has to move up.

Losing one of our best players, and Jackson is, hurts all the way down the roster. Luckily this is our deepest position, but still it is a big loss

Missing top 2 WRs, 2nd TE, and Wentz has looked hurt since rib shot and had to go through concussion protocol later. Start 2nd half with McCown. Dline hasn't done at all well against banged up O-line.

I thought so too, ball left his hand split second after knee was down. Game was lost on Aghalor's muff of TD pass. Didn't think it would be as close as it was.

I was traveling lat night and was only able to listen to the 4th quarter on the radio. On the one hand, if you told me we'd be w/o Jeffrey, Jackson, and Goedert and we'd be in position to win the game, I'd be happy. But, that was a winnable game that the Egales gave away.

Agholor has to make that catch and Ertz has to go a yard deeper there.

Also, if Jeffrey and Jackson are out long term, that's a problem.

It would be nice if Miles Sanders could break a tackle. He has been fairly terrible.

Ortega Whiteside has also been terrible. On the field but no show

Where was Sproles? I am sure Dion Jones would be on him, but have him out there to use up Jones.

It is time for Vaitai to start of Selamoulo (sp?). Too many holding penalties that are crushing.

Wentz’s 2 pt conversion should have been good. He wasn’t giving himself up, but if you say that then it was s late hit for hitting him.

I think Douglass was blocked in the back on the Jones TD. Here is a screen cap of the first contact on him.

Not whining, but it hurts that there was a missed call on such a big play.

So Doug Pederson’s aggressiveness takes and gives. If he doesn’t go for 2 (or if the refs figure out how to call the game and not mess up the call) the Eagles could have kicked a FG at the end instead of going for it.

Of course, it is also true that they scored on a 4th down that most coaches would not have done.

I still like Pederson’s aggressiveness, but I worry that he goes a little too far sometimes.
