It probably really is true that we have the 2nd best QB left in the playoffs. (Case Keenum is having a great year, but honestly it is more his team than him, they just have a deep set of position players).

I hate to say it, but I would say NE has an 80% chance of winning the SB at this point.

Keenum and Foles both started the season as backup QB's.

Eagles trade Foles to the Rams for Bradford.

Foles would eventually lose his starting job to Keenum with the Rams.

Eagles would draft Wentz and trade Bradford to the Vikings.

Keenum would end up in Minnesota backing up Bradford until Bradford got hurt.

Foles would end up back in Philadelphia backing up Wentz until Wentz got hurt.

i just watched the 61 yd. field goal again, that play that kick started the eagles successful season. awesome. 27-10 vikings today. i just don't think anyone is giving keeum his credit. it's been an unexpected early rise for the eagles. hardly any one expected the division championship and 2 home playoff games. let alone playing for the NFC championship. the stars aligned with dallas getting the hard first place schedule, their running back out for 6 games, rogers going out with an injury and wentz stepping up quicker than expected. on that subject, i'll finally relent and give roseman credit. i thought he gave up way too much for wentz. and for anyone on this site that knows me, knows i am a staunch fan for the younger developing players (hate giving up draft choices). but, i t looks like i was wrong in this case. who knows if when/if they will get back to this game. there is a lot of luck involved. good luck today. hope i'm wrong again. since it is a baseball forum and i'm rambling, i think the phils are poised to be in the running this year for a playoff. i just think the young pitching is going to be a positive. last year's tune ups were a big plus. can't wait for the threads on break outs and sleepers of the year. i have a few choices.

It's a loss if the Vikings score more than 21 points I think. But Keenan can still be good so long as the Eagles' defense is better. Can Foles get them to 17 or 20? Could Elliot win it with a 55+ kick, or lose it with a <30 miss in the first half? Hopefully it is Minnesota that is tight, with all the energy from last week and looking ahead to home field Super Bowl.

Have followed this team all season. Woke up before dawn to catch the last two playoff games. Hopefully get together with some of my friends out here to watch the recording. It'll be challenging to go that long without checking the score tho.

One more time because it needs repeating, Eagles go to the Super Bowl without their MVP candidate QB, their Hall Of Fame left tackle, their signal calling middle LB, not to mention their backup middle LB or their middle LB signed to replace the first two, their best special teams player, their punt returner and 3rd down specialist RB, their opening day K, their # 2 and # 5 draft picks plus games missed by Cox, Darby, Ertz, Kendricks, etc... during this season that most everyone thought they would be 8-8, or 9-7 at best.

Just a magical season...

When Wentz went down I said that Foles could be at least a small good as Case Keenum, the QB of the #2 seed, then the Oakland game made me question that...but on this given Sunday it wasn't even a contest.

Pats only called for one penalty yesterday. They only call the obvious penalties it seems. Hope the plan for that.

Not an Eagle fan at all, grew up watching and rooting for Raiders, but because of my affinity for my Phillie phan brothers and sisters [SF] I found myself rooting for the Eagles yesterday. They are an easy team to like actually, you should be proud of this group.

I'll be rooting for them on Super Sunday but if there is a person on this earth who seems to have more good fortune than Tom Brady, I haven't found him.

This Eagle team reminds me a great deal of the '93 Phillies. Getting plenty of good fortune (to go along with injury bad fortune) and having perfect team chemistry and a certain chip on its shoulder for being looked down upon. Probably overachieving and enjoying a harmonic convergence of guys having career years. A true Cinderella story. Here's hoping the clock doesn't strike Midnight on February 4 and that the carriage doesn't turn into a pumpkin!

Just looking at the coaching vacancies across the league, only the Colts have a head coach spot open, so the chances of losing Schwartz and DeFilippo from the staff is far less likely.
