I'll take four given the way the Cubs are playing (they also have a better differential than the Phillies) and it's a road series (and how badly they did there last year). But either way, sweep the Nats. The games against the Florida teams will be interesting.

I’m in the suburbs, and it’s pretty bad. I can’t imagine they’ll play. I’d stay home if I had tickets. I’m supposed to go on Thursday, hopefully it clears up.

We still got games with the Brewers,and Giants. And Miami of course. Cubs and Padres way down there but have the 3rd and 4th-best run differentials. But sometimes that luck doesn't even out. It's also starting to look like Miami's luck won't run out.

As with last year it won't be enough for the Phillies to hold up their end, someone else is going to have to choke a little too.

We shall see which teams are really in it. Right now the two West teams seem inevitable and the Marlins are allowing very few runs (but not scoring them either). Phillies getting better pitching than the Dodgers.

Three behind and four games over .500 now. On this day last year they were three behind and three games over .500.

Maybe some others noticed there was so much crap in the air, the long shots made it look like rain!

I don't know and can't imagine what Big Rob is thinking sending Ranger out to pitch the 8th. Should be turning cartwheels after he threw 7 shutout innings and used the strongest part of the team to just slam it closed. Best spin is that there mighta been a complete game shutout on his resume but hell with that - ice that arm and get ready to pitch like that again. Big Rob seems to have a tendency to make his starters reach.

Clemons had a great breakout and looked like he was ready. He IS ready with the glove - can't even recall a single error - but his hitting just fell off the table. The Phils have been way patient with him and it was really good to see him get a couple hits yesterday. Not to mention Schwarber.

We kept wondering if Hall might replace Clemens but kept forgetting (or at least I did) that he couldn't be called up for 10 days once he actually got optioned. That ends tomorrow. Seems like Friday would be the natural time to do it

Dombrowski talks Harper playing first base, Deadline

Dombrowski said he believes Bryce Harper can play first base and that he will play there sometime after the All-Star break. At the very least, the Phillies will know if he can play there before the Trade Deadline.

“He’s not far away,” Dombrowski said.

Harper took full-fledged infield practice for the first time on Wednesday.
