Yeah my wife has tickets and is at the stadium and they are turning people away.

Eta the Phils just tweeted 3 minutes ago now that the game was postponed. Pretty poor performance to postpone now since they’ve known all day the air quality was poor.

The game has been postponed. This was really mismanaged. Announcing at 4:30 that at 6:05 game is postponed is really poor handling of the situation...

Yeah they just cancelled it. Tweet 20 minutes ago had them playing.

Looks like both teams are off tomorrow so assume they could try again if the smoke forecast is better.

One issue is the forecast tomorrow is not guaranteed to be better. Kind of 50-50 here in DC whether we'll see the same smoke for at least another day. They probably hedged on this until the last second.

According to a person with direct knowledge of the process, air quality postponements are the purview of Major League Baseball, in consultation with the Players Association, and are out of the hands of the clubs.

Yea, I was about to say that the Iron Pigs are canceled tonight, guessing the Phillies would follow suit.

It isn't that bad here in Hellertown, but if you have respiratory issues I am guessing it is bad enough to cause problems. My wife is having some trouble, I actually liked the nice cool day (no sun) and what I consider a pleasant wood burning odor.

White Sox @ Yankees also postponed to tomorrow (single admission DH for them, however). The only games in the Northeast Corridor.

Aqi in Nyc is over 400 and I’ve seen pics from Yankee stadium showing an orange sky. The Aqi in Philly and where I’m at are the same around 190.

I’m in Cleveland, and they are playing. The air was bad earlier but seems ok now. (The air was fine inside the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, though.)

"Hazardous" Air Quality Puts Players, Fans at Risk

I'm with Bill. Anything over 150 should be automatic to protect players, fans, stadium staff. it's also not great to have a bunch of cars sitting in traffic/parking during poor AQI (and the sports complex is probably already not great in that regard given its location)

Apparently the air quality warning is still in effect in Cleveland even though they are playing. And it’s in effect through Thursday night. Which implies it won’t be over in Philly tomorrow. But the air isn’t hazy here like it was this afternoon. So maybe it’s improving?

Aqi in Cleveland is in the 90’s.

My wife, son, and his friend ended up at Dave and Busters instead of the game. So I ended up paying out anyway. We can’t go tomorrow, so I guess my parking pass is useless.

My phone says the alert is in effect through tomorrow. But I have been outdoors for over three hours, and it does seem fine to me.
