I mean I would say yes because Long and Thomson are both part of the Girardi tree but now Thomson is his own branch.

Wathan of course is all Phillies and basically a Monty/Amaro/Gillick product, even if he's also a Royals legacy. I wonder who actually hired him in 2007.

This playoff run has truly been unexpected. I would’ve thought we would have been knocked out early. But mostly good pitching and timely hitting have gotten us here.

The Astros are going to be really tough. The offense is going to have to keep rolling.

According to Win Probability Added Harper was a fair MVP choice. He had 0.79 WPA. The other contenders were Wheeler (0.61), Schwarber (0.48), Ranger (0.32) and Hoskins (0.28).

Machado had a bit of a stinker by this metric (-0.40) and the Nola brothers combined for -0.72 WPA.
Credit to Juan Soto with (0.57) and Drury who terrified me every time he came up to bat (+0.51).
