It's important to note that there are always pitchers who bail out of the ASG because they pitched the weekend before, just want the rest or whatever other reason. Therefore, it's still possible that Wheeler and Nola may end up in LA.

The Phillies will put Realmuto, Bohm, Nola and Gibson on restricted list for Toronto. They forfeit pay and service time for two days. Other potential absences were mitigated through demotions to minors / injuries.

Thought it was going to be worse. Stubbs was going to play one game this week anyway so I guess it will be in Toronto. Second catcher of course will play one. If Camargo is back losing Bohm will hurt less. One potentially ugly bullpen game to get through? They can certainly extend the two new pitchers in that game and replace them before Miami. JoJo might be back for the weekend series though could easily see them optioning him so he gets regular work through the break.

Do we know if this is information is true about Gibson and nola? didn't we recently see information stating starters on rest can't be added to the restrictive list thus no loss of money and service time even if they didn't make the trip.

I have seen some tweets that suggest they can replace Gibson who was originally scheduled to pitch in Toronto but not Nola who was always lined up for tonight. Imagine the Phillies got permission for this when they shuffled the rotation. They also could send Sanchez down for another replacement if they wanted to. He seems like a pitcher where they want to use all 5 options that are allowed. I think they might have only used 2 of those so far (though each carries a 15-day stint in the minors now).

Edit - Looks like they can replace Gibson for Wednesday when he was originally scheduled but not for Tuesday which is the bullpen game. Mark Appel, first career start?

Marchan will join Phillies in Toronto. One other, too. They cannot replace Nola on roster. Gibson can be replaced for Wed. Phillies are TBA for Tues. start. It was Bailey Falter’s spot. He was optioned; Dombrowski said there was a reason and would not expound.

Their choice whether to take medical treatment or not goes beyond baseball. The individual needs to weigh their tolerance for the risks and make the decision for themselves.

I had thought the list would be longer and yes, the "damage" to the team could've been worse. Of course, Nola & Gibson aren't scheduled to start in Toronto anyway. JT could've easily been given one of those two games off. And although he has played better of late, Bohm is replaceable for a couple games, particularly if Camargo returns tomorrow. That seems possible since he's been at AAA for a few games.

It will probably be "all hands on deck" tomorrow night for a bullpen game. I would think that will include Mark Appel's most high-leverage innings to this point. I, for one, am curious to see how he might do.

This might be the best thing for JT Realmuto. 3 days of rest. followed by a 3 game series, followed by 4 days of rest... Maybe gives him him to reset for the second half and find his stroke.

I don’t know blood clots are a pretty serious possible side effect to me. I did get the JnJ shot myself, but I support anyone else’s right to not do so.

Greater risk of blood clots from, y'know, having COVID! Especially since you can get it multiple times with these new variants - which exist in part because the population was never sufficiently vaccinated to stop the virus's mutation.

That’s not factually correct. The MRNA vaccine research is not new. It was developed decades ago. The actual Covid vaccines were the first to actually use the MRNA method. The actual vaccines from Moderna and Pfizer were tested just like every other vaccine with three clinical trials. The quickness was in going to the trials so soon after they got the genetic info on the virus from China.
