Any news on Segura? Sounded like he was going to play but it really seems hard to get any injury updates today. In normal times a reporter would be in the clubhouse in the afternoon figuring it out and tweeting it.

I think we can assume Segura will be in the line-up. If he'd had a bad X-ray or was still in pain we probably would have heard about it, the press still got to attend the workouts over the past few days and surely would have noted his absence, as well as asked about it on Zoom.

Kingery-Quinn at the bottom could be fun, both for speed and to set the table for Cutch and Hoskins.

Thought they were going to go with Harper 2nd. It is a decent lineup. Good OBP at the top. Bottom is also better than average. Our 4-6 is probably weaker than average, more because the lineup has balance than because of huge weaknesses. Ideally we would want one of the faster players at the bottom of the lineup (Segura, Kingery, Quinn/Haseley) to earn the #2 spot to push Hoskins down to cleanup.

Speculative but logical, especially given what we read previously about flying from the DR, passing through Miami, etc.

It sounds like Seranthony Dominguez has also been in COVID protocol because he still has not had Tommy John surgery. He will soon. His elbow injury and recovery will now span three seasons.

I don't think Salisbury had any new information on Robertson though. I think September was always the best case scenario. It stands to reason that his rehab might be slowed (especially since Clearwater shut down) in terms of being MLB-ready, more so than healed per se.

It sure would be nice if MLB were to add a roster of the alternate site players since this is of some interest and importance in this unusual season. I am disappointed but not surprised that they have not done this.

Lartigue is no longer in the 60 man. And I believe O’Hoppe was added as a COVID replacement

Well...

My listing of minor-league transactions shows Lartigue assigned to the Alternate Site on 7/18. Zolecki tweeted the same day that Lartigue had been removed from the Player Pool.

So I went back to the minor league transactions listings - and Lartigue is no longer listed as assigned to the Alternate Site. But he's not alone in that - Alec Bohm and others have disappeared from the transactions listings as well. But they were there when I posted them (I don't type in those transactions - I copy and paste them from the milb.com transactions web pages).

All I can conclude is that, for whatever reason, MLB has decided to obscure things, and they've had a bunch of transactions listings removed. Given that, there's no way I can maintain the Alternate Site roster I posted above.

So, unless I can find a reliable source of information (or unless somebody can direct me to same), I'm not going to kill myself on this. To put it bluntly, "A pox on all of them." I've deleted the roster I posted - I have no confidence at this point that anything on that list is reliable.

They are not even letting official scorers watch the games in person, between remote work and furloughs/layoffs/pay cuts (at MLBAM if not the teams), hard to be surprised by the slow drip of information from a system that isn't always known for speed. Hopefully the team and beat writers will actually report details of the intrasquad games in Allentown (and I'm sure they will - everyone is going to want to know about Howard's starts and Bohm's ABs and so forth).

Alternately, we could pessimistically assume that any time a player's location is unknown, he's tested positive.

Once again, the Phillies and MLB are not providing information to the fans. They do not wish to confuse fans with information that they cannot understand. Not confusing fans is their priority, so no information is the better way to go.

I suspect this is purely a coding/CMS/design issue. The roster section of MLB.com is set up to show you active, 40-man and NRI. Seems like it would be simple enough to convert the latter section to the alternate training roster (there'd be overlap with the 40 but that's true of the active too). I suspect that's how it will end up.

I actually think the NRI may be largely accurate, though Lartigue is still on it and Bethancourt is missing. I do think the COVID IL is the other obfuscating factor, to the point where there's no IL information on the roster page at all. On the 40, normally Robertson and Dominguez would show as being on the 45-day IL (another coding change they have to make from 60) and Suarez would also show as being on IL.

And then they should also put a note next to the players on the 40 who are not on the 60 (Sanchez and Medina, is that right? Gamboa is gone now, that much they have updated.)

At the risk of reading too much into the news that Price was not with the team on Saturday, it is a cause for concern. I would hate to have the pitching coach out for an extended period.

I guess coaches can still work from isolation just like so many are working from home, assuming he is able to do so. Best case, it is just something routine that will keep him away for a day or two.

Yeah he really can't coach the way he normally would anyway. As far as what the pitching coach does during a game from the dugout, I suppose it would be illegal (i.e. he couldn't text or call Girardi). But Lundquist can handle it.

And who knows. He could be back in days if he passes tests, or he could be subject to lengthier quarantine. Given he is the oldest coach on the team besides Gott (who I believe already tested positive) I just hope he is not ill.
