But Walker has a .484 OPS, which I think cancels out his value as a switch-hitter. It's true he hits as a lefty better, but the bench is sufficiently balanced (Haseley and Bruce LHB, Kingery and Gosselin RHB, Knapp SH).
Really though, this just makes the case for going out and getting a bench upgrade. Gosselin's magic run is over, Bruce could easily get hurt again, Walker's been awful (and he got his 10-year pension, so congratulations and good luck).
I assume Gosselin and Walker would clear waivers too, unless teams get more aggressive once trades are no longer possible. I wonder if Garlick will survive the next two hours.
