Agreed. Green and Harris were also solid. And Ben was an assist machine and hit a three! Hard to say losing Curry mattered but rhythm seemed off in OT.

Still not sure you want to rely on Howard if Joel has to miss more games (whether injury or rest) when it counts. The timing of the injury is tough since it obviously won't be easy to make two substantial moves. And Bucks have Tucker now.

No Embiid, no Simmons, no Curry, no problem. Sixers crush the Kings 129 to 105. Now they go on a six game road trip, including a west coast swing.

Sixers squeak by the Knicks 101-100 in OT, Danny Green hit two clutch 3s in OT to keep them in it and Harris who missed two free throws late in regulation causing overtime, hit two free throws to win it.

The Knicks under Thibodeau are not a fun team to play. Like playing hockey vs a clutch-and-grab, trapping team in the old days. It's more like a football game than a basketball game on both ends, and not fun to watch. Gutsy win for the Sixers.

BTW, Harris said about his two foul shots that the foul that sent him to the line was on his shooting hand and he couldn't feel the hand while he was shooting. That's good strategy on the Knicks' part if intentional...

Sounds like Toronto is closing the door on trading Lowry but Norm Powell may be available...he seems like a perfect fit for the sixers!

Put me in the No column on a Lowry trade. He would not make the team better because trading Green for Lowry creates a hole at small forward. Unless there is another corresponding move to address that, and I don't see how they can do that with the cap restraints, it messes up the team. Plus you need to also give up Maxey and a future 1st? No thanks. I'd rather they just try to add to the bench with moves that don't require moving Green, Thybulle or Maxey. Wait for the buy outs and and pick up some players like they did a couple years ago..

Hard to say. Obviously there are many nights when this team looks like they could win it all. But the playoffs are different. And the window to win with a healthy Joel still feels small. Lowry could really put them over the top, not just this season but for three seasons, and improve the team on those nights when one of the stars is out. I assume Thybulle would get some of Green's minutes, but also wouldn't they basically make Simmons a point forward with Curry and Lowry both on the floor with him? And if the buyout is such an easy option they can use that for another body.

I think they basically acquired Green to trade him if the opportunity arose. The expiring contract and ability to match $ was more valuable than his talent, even though the talent is still there. But he's still not what he was, he was awful last playoffs, and he won't be here next year. If they don't go big and bold - which is Morey's style - and lose in the Eastern finals, what then?

Ben is a 1 or a 4, he's certainly not a 3 and D small forward, and Harris is finally playing great because because he's at the 4 and not the 3. Plus, do you want to give up Maxey. He was a steal at 21 and his upside is off the charts, he's a fill it up scorer in waiting. they finally have a cohesive lineup where the pieces finally fit. What they need is bench depth. Lowry is not Harden, he's not a star, and he's 35 and makes big money. Build around the edges with guys who fill out the team around the starters and they will be fine come playoff time.

If I'm trading maxey, i would look to add powell over lowry based on age...he will cost more but he's a heck of a 4th piece.

Sixers beat the Warriors, have won 5 straight road game for the first time in a loooong time, but yeah let's break the team up. Now comes a tough test against the Clippers. At least after that they get the Lakers without Bron or the Brow.

Sixers were just clearly better tonight and it wouldn't have been close except that they went to sleep for about 12 minutes from the late second quarter until the late third. Bradley was amazing, 8/8 shooting and solid defense. Howard Scott, and Thybulle took the night off or can't deal with cross-country travel.

Well heck, most of those wins have been without Joel or Ben or both, if those are the laurels you want to rest on. I think that's actually the point, tbh - a lot of the parts work with one or both or none of them, but they still don't have it perfectly tuned when it's both of them and no half-court shot creator.

Agree. At this point, I really don't wan to trade away anyone that plays in the rotation now, including Maxey. Redick is likely to be bought out, maybe get him and maybe trade some of the DNPCD guys on the roster and future 2nds for someone like George Hill.

Sixers have traded for George Hill...tony bradley, terrance ferguson and 2 #2's on the move.

Sixers also get Knicks forward Ignas Brazdeikis. Sorry to see Bradley go, but when Embiid comes back, he wouldn't be in the rotation, so not a bad deal for Hill.

A nice move for the return. And preserves all those assets if they want to do a big deal next year. I'm assuming they are done (trade-wise).

Funny that Austin Rivers is in the deal.

Reddick to the Mavs and I guess we'll just sign Lowry this summer (but not at the price he was hoping for now. Can't imagine he gets a sign-and-trade).
