Well, it is a small sample size and we need to keep that in mind.

Plus we do have a history of drafting poorly so I am sure that will come true with Bohm too. And we will do a poor job developing him.

I heard he won't be able to stay at 3rd and God only knows we have enough first baseman.

Lets just trade him so we won't find out any of these answers.........lol.

It may be a small AFL sample size but Bohm's 2019 is now around 600 Plate Appearances at a .900 OPS while physically changing residences 3 times

K/BB rate has been pretty good as he has been promoted. That is probably the best news as his game power will probably progress as he matures. He really looks like he'll be a high average guy with an above average number of walks. Not unlike Anthony Rendon offensively (though not as good at this point of course). Defense is a question. Hopefully 3B works out. Even if he is below average there though, the offense might be enough to play there next to a good SS.

We all worried about Chase Utley's defense before he was promoted, too. I suspect we worry about defense in pretty much every minor leaguer. I remember arguing with people who were sure Jimmy Rollins would be an awful SS and thought Alfonso Soriano was the obviously better fielder.

It is usually an unknown though I imagine there is better minor league fielding data available to teams so the Chase Utley questions (looks a little awkward or unconventional in the field) are fewer these days as something like UZR probably would have shown Chase was getting to an above average number of balls.

With Bohm it has always been part of his scouting profile though, and as a big kid (6'5") there are also questions of growing out of the position. With Franco the questions were about his limited athleticism which has borne out unfortunately even if he has decent quickness and a good arm.

I think we all just like to worry. We tend to see the warts on our players because we see them closeup. At a distance other teams players don't have their warts visible.

Some scouts said the same things about Kris Bryant that they are now saying regarding Bohm. Hopefully they’ll be equally wrong. Bohm won’t be MJS at third but he’ll be fine, especially if the club can get a slick fielding SS to play next to him.

Agreed. The development of that pitch could be the difference between a 2/3 type starter and a back of the bullpen standout.

Howard's last start was pretty good. 4 scoreless with 2 H and 3 BBs and 4 Ks. Apparently he was working on some things like his changeup so the BBs were not really a loss of command. Positive note on Romero also as he was up to 95 in his inning. His velocity has really been all over the place in his career. Not sure it means he is destined for the bullpen or has just been working with his mechanics or physical issues. Moniak 0-4 continues to struggle here.

Seabold probably has one more start this weekend after which he and Howard and Bohm go to the Olympic training camp with games starting 11/2.
