It seems like Moniak has one good game every couple of weeks...he's going to need to get a little more consistent.

USBC Olympic practice started yesterday so assume at least Howard and Seabold are done in the Arizona league (though Bohm apparently is still playing a bit). Exhibition games Sunday and Monday before going down to Mexico November 2-4.

Top two from the USA group go on to Tokyo November 11-16.

Looks like Howard is getting a 6th start tonight so the Phillies do seem to actively want him to get more innings than the original 5-start plan (plus 1-2 more in the Olympic qualifying).

On the downside, Seabold was skipped in the rotation last time through. Not sure they are managing his innings carefully as well since he was hurt most of the year.

Game is still on-going. Howard went three innings. His numbers look alright: 44/36, BB, 4H, 0ER. As much as I enjoy the comings and goings of the post-season, next season can't come quick enough!

Not sure if Howard or Seabold will pitch, but it does look like we have a Youtube livestream of the WSBC Olympic qualifying tournament. First game against the Netherlands at 1:40 PM Saturday.

Howard and Seabold were not on the final Olympic roster so Bohm is the only one left on the US team. Johnathan Guzman is one of the SS on the Dominican roster.

US beats Netherlands 9-0 but loses to Mexico 8-2. Bohm started both games but went 0-8.

Important game tonight at 7 PM against the Dominican Republic to move to the next round.

Would not surprise me if Bohm has simply run out of gas. He was the first to report to the FL complex in early January, played in Lakewood, Clearwater, Reading, Arizona and now the Olympic qualifying team in Mexico with a possible upcoming trip to Japan. Hard to say no to representing your country but I'm more interested in Bohm representing the Phillies in 2020.

Well we are up 8-2 after 4 tonight and Bohm is 2-2 with a 2B and a 3-run HR. Sometimes 0-8 is a couple of games of bad luck.

If they win tonight they go on to Tokyo for the next round starting 11/12.

There are a bunch of steps. The top Americas and Asian teams from the Tokyo event will qualify but if that is not the US then there is a secondary qualifying event in March where there would be an additional Americas (North/South/Central) spot up for grabs.

Then I think that 2020 Americas event has an automatic qualifier with the 2nd and 3rd place teams getting another chance in yet another round.

Really confusing but I think we would have been out and not eligible for all the second chances if we had lost to the DR last week.

Bohm 2-5 with a double this morning. 1-4 yesterday with a BB and 2B:

We lost to Korea yesterday though and since only the Mexico loss from the first round carries over we are now 1-2. Games against Australia tomorrow and Taiwan on the 15th. Not sure we can advance to the Olympics in this event since the best we can do is tie Mexico now and only one team from the Americas advances here. 2nd or 3rd gets us into the final March qualifier with the Netherlands (Europe runner up) and at least one Asian team.

And we lose to Australia 2-1. Bohm 0-2 with a BB. Still a sliver of a chance to advance. If we win our next game and Mexico loses then we get in a 3rd place game with Mexico for the Olympic spot. Otherwise onto the March tournament.

The US beat Taiwan and Mexico lost to Korea, so we now have a chance Sunday (game starts 10 PM Saturday night) to qualify in this round of the tournament. Bohm was 1-3 against Taiwan.
