I did see a tweet that the PTBNL will not be a Phillies Top 30 prospect, so there's that. It could also be Cash Considerations.
Love it if money is the biggest factor. That is our advantage in being able to pick up salary. Assume it is at least a nominal prospect going back. Knapp probably gets optioned when he is healthy also.
I'm not sure that tweet implies the Rays are necessarily talking to the Phillies about him.
So if its a 2018 draft pick its not Bohm or Eastman or Pipkin
Good Lord, which Top 30? There are a half dozen of them. Is Pujols considered a Top 30, I think he is?
Phillies haven't been linked to any SP, have they? Seems to be OF and RP - and now catcher.
Took the 'they' to refer to the nearest noun. Oops.
Will NOT be a Top 30 prospect. So someone outside of the top 30 and/or cash.
Mayo referring to the MLB.com Top 30. Pujols not on that list though
Seems it is PTBNL for Ramos AND cash. So we are not picking up all of Ramos' salary.
He has performance bonuses so the $ is probably in flux depending on that and on what kind of player the Rays ultimately get (if any, though I find that hard to believe).
Salisbury indicates Phils aren't done, working on bringing in a lefty reliever. Diekman would be nice.
Archer seems likely to go to the Pirates:
And other starter moves could have Gausman to the Braves and Harvey to the Brewers. None of it settled but all the teams want at least one starter.
Loup is not as good as Diekman. But he is competent and a cheap rental most likely.
Well..... he's cheap anyway.
