Might as well put this here as the offseason thread is more for major leaguers. Notes on minor league free agents. I assume we will want a bunch of these players back, especially pitchers like Domonic Pipkin who have fought injuries through the years. Kroon is a AAAA guy who would be useful at Lehigh Valley though there is likely more opportunity somewhere else. Jordi Martinez (TJ surgery) and Cristian Hernandez are two arms I would want back who have some middle relief potential.
Really no one on that list they'd miss.Kroon was promising but can't stay healthy, Pipkin flashed but another shoulder surgery - shoulders are worse than elbows.Covey finished strong but will be 34.
Full list of minor league free agents here along with some notes on the new pitchers on the 40 (who I agree may be placeholders waiting for free agents to be signed). We have 3 more spots to protect (Abel, Chace, one other?). Then we'll probably DFA players at a time where they are more likely to clear waivers.
