Some of you have set our trade threads to "Watching," which means that, every time anybody posts in those threads, the board tries to send an email to you - or if you're currently online, it checks and skips the email - but still runs a process to get there.

If you set those thread to "Tracking," instead of "Watching," you'll lighten our load - and since you're all online now, you won't miss anything!

I have not done that. Though I do have my bookmark on the Latest page and maybe that has a higher load than others.

I don't think a bookmark would generate a lot of load. I mean, I can see the emails sent, and emails skipped (there's a log), and there are tons of them. It's just a guess as to what the load problem is, but it's not an uninformed guess.

Thanks to those of you who have turned off the "Watching" option on the current hot threads. I don't know if it's going to solve our load problem, but it can't hurt - and I can see from the log that you've made a change - the accumulation of sent/skipped emails has slowed down considerably.
