I feel confident in predicting we’ll be watching these three guys succeeding above low A next year with ultimate ceilings of being good big leaguers in some form or another. Bowker strikes me as a potential Jonah Tong type prospect.
So while not the mix I would have gone for (the Rangers stole my draft), I’m happy with it so far. I like that they went for strong conference (SEC/ Big 10) quality arms. That said, teams will always broadcast their plan is to take “the best available player” while subsequently becoming obvious they had an agenda that deviated from that. I can’t think of a time that worked out better than the stated plan.
