And because of the rumors that Towns is unhappy in Minnesota, Philly has been speculated as a trade partner. I am guessing that Saric would need to be involved. Would Saric and Fultz be too much?

Embiid, KAT, RoCo, Gilgeous-Alexander, and Simmons would be a pretty good combination.

A lot of this depends on whether the LeBron rumors are true, and whether he's sent back-channel messages to the Sixers that he is interested. I don't know that they can fit KAT and LeBron under the cap with their current structure.

I would think the package for KAT would be pretty much what we'd give for Leonard. At 22 he's got to be a very attractive target.

Not sure it would be worth the price to move up to #4 but this article is interesting...would you consider your 2 #1's and maybe TLC?

I think the cost to move up to #4 might be bigger than the 2 #1s and TLC. But I like the idea, and for more than Doncic.

If Sixers could land Michael Porter or Wendell Carter without giving up too much, I'd do it. Both profile as stretch 4s who - especially Carter - could also give Embiid a break once in a while.

Yes I would move up. Doncic was MVP of the second toughest league in the world at 19. I know some criticize his foot speed and athleticism, but I'd love to take a shot at him. He had better stats at a younger age than Porzingis.

I mean, if you don't trust Colangelo to make good moves - and I'm not saying you should - you can't really trust him to get Leonard or sign LeBron or draft 10th either. If you think he's that bad you should root for him to make the most aggressive moves possible... and fail.

It would be pretty hard to screw up signing Lebron.

I don't see any way Doncic slips out of the top 3 and he should really go 1st overall. But if he or Jaren Jackson are there and that's all it takes to move up to #4, then it's an easy decision to trade up.

I'd have to think the Sixers would have a lot of competition in trading up to that spot. I would also guess that Memphis would want to unload one of their bad contracts in order to move up. Probably something like #4 and Parsons for #10, Covington, and Bayless.

It's a steep price to give up Covington, but is definitely worth it for Doncic and the Sixers would still have a lot of cap room to make an other move.

the gift of hindsight is a heck of a thing...unless you predicted Fultz would play so few games?

If fultz turns out being as advertised are you really saying its a bad deal to swap picks and give up the kinds pick?

I still think that with the current Sixers team it would be really hard to screw up a Lebron signing. I can see a Kawhi or KAT trade getting screwed up. Mainly because both players apparently want out and their trade value should at least be somewhat reduced. Watching either in a Sixers uniform will dull the pain of a bad trade, though.

I'm seeing all these viral videos of Embiid playing pickup basketball. Aside from thoughts that this has to be some sort of marketing campaign, if he gets injured doing this, those guys playing with him will need witness protection program.

It's been a great Finals rivalry, kind of like Celtics-Lakers all those years in the '80's.

Honestly, I think those were better. You had multiple HOF players on each team, really they were the only high quality teams minus maybe Houston late in the rivalry (and of course the Sixers in 1983). Cleveland really only has 1 HOF type player and another good player (Love) and then journeymen (Kyrie Irving maybe to be added, but he isnt there anymore). The Lakers/Celtics rivalry just seemed better, but of course there was also very little competition many of those years, the season was truly meaningless.

Indeed, that rivalry was definitely better. The Bucks an Hawks (the Dominique Wilkins era) had good teams back then as well but had the misfortune of getting good when the Celtics perennially stood in their way. Same for the Bulls in the early Jordan years and most of the Thomas-Rodman-Lambier Piston teams. Eventually, the Cetlic core aged, Bias died (as did Reggie Lewis a few years later) and the Celtics faded giving the Pistons their brief two-year window of opportunity which of which they took advantage before yielding to the first of the Bulls' two dynasties in the '90's.

Honestly I found the Heat vs. Spurs/Mavs/Thunder era to be just as enjoyable. Maybe because the West was more competitive. The East has been all-LeBron and no one else for seven years and despite Houston's efforts (and Chris Paul's injuries) nobody really challenged the Dubs. I can understand why some Sixers fans don't want to just be the next team on that list, but of course, you also do.
