I think the price is too steep. Especially when you figure in that a trade would greatly help the Celtics out. Jackson is a better fit, is cheaper, and it most likely gives them another lottery ball to get Luka Doncic next year.

And I'm not sure that Fultz will be better than Lonzo. I think I'd take Ball or Jackson and hope to have two lottery picks next year in order to get Luka Doncic.

This trade will give the Celtics either a top FA (Hayward) and a trade for Butler or a top FA, Josh Jackson, and a likely lottery pick next year (to go along with their Nets pick next year, which is also likely to be pretty good).

The Sixers would already be doing them a favor. I'm not sure I do the deal for next years first and have no idea why a future first is even in the discussions. Well, Colangelo is doing the negotiation, so maybe that explains it.

I'm not sure that Fultz is better than Lonzo and even if he is I think it's more a 1a/1b type scenario. I'd rather explore trading with the Lakers and taking one of their bad contracts before giving up 2 extra 1sts for a player that I'm not certain is the best player in the draft.

There is virtually no publication or scout that doesnt have Fultz as the best player in the draft and i'm not sure anyone has it very close.

David Aldridge just tweeted that the Sixers-Celtics have agreed. Trade will final on Monday and Sixers will take Fultz. This is fantastic IMO.

Rumor is 2017 #3 overall, Lakers 2018 pick and Sixers 2021 first with some degree of protection.

I suspect it's 1-3 or 1-2 on the Laker pick (i.e. Sixer retain if it's #1 and transfer better of Sac or Sixers 2019 pick) and lottery protection in 2021.

I'm not a big Fultz fan, but would do the proposed deal. The Sixers cannot sign all the first round picks they have coming up (if they are top 5-10 like they are anticipated) and keep Embiid and Simmons while actually improving. If Fultz is their guy and they do a deal to get him, the more power to them.

I am continually impressed by Fox. He is very mature, poised, and the fastest player I can remember since John Wall (and I would be surprised if Fox were quicker). He's played with Ben Simmons and totally shut down Lonzo Ball.

You look at Fox, Jackson, and even Monk, and you see an NBA player. You look at Fultz's highlights from this past season and I rarely see a highlight that wouldn't have been nullified by a serviceable NBA player like John Henson or Ed Davis.

Watch again. Fultz is the better player. By far. There isn't an NBA scout anywhere that likes Fox better.

I love Fox too, and only time will tell as to who becomes the better pro. But Fultz is clearly the consensus #1 according to most all the pundits, and that's gotta be for a reason.

Now they're saying the 2018 Lakers pick is protected if it is #1 or #6 or below. If it does not convey, the Celtics would get the 2019 Kings pick. So it's either or, not both the Lakers and Kings picks.

I hope they are decent. I feel better, but 3 for 1 is steep. If Schooldoc is correct, then I'm fine with the deal. I was looking forward to maybe having Fox, but I can't argue on getting MF for our 1 this year and one of the two next number ones.

Just FYI, the final terms appear to be:

Sixers get:
#1 pick.

Celtics get:
#3 pick
2018 Lakers pick if it falls between #2 and #5.
If the Lakers pick does not convey, the Celts get Kings pick unprotected in 2019.

So it's only one pick, we will get one of those two.

Ideal scenario:
Lakers get #1 pick (which we keep).
Kings get good and make the playoffs in 2019.

I do believe that Fultz is completely capable of more than he showed in college, much like Simmons. With better spacing for himself and some guidance from Bayless and perhaps another veteran guard, it'll be a fun year.

That would be a great scenario for how the picks play out. Especially when Fox leads Sac to the 6th seed in 2019!

Great trade, the Lakers pick to move up and get the guy that everyone has been saying is perfect to mix with Simmons and Embiid.

This is going to be a fun year if we can somehow keep those three and Saric healthy.

Only knock on Fultz I have seen was that he seemed uninterested in defense at times (on a terrible team). He may have also felt the pressure of literally being the only option on that team. These seem very fixable just naturally.
