More importantly he makes a case that Miller should be the SS over Turner because he is better defensively. They would not do that in 2026 midseason, but if it is true they should really think about it for 2027 as long as his offense progresses to the point where he is up before the end of 2026.
And this decision is squarely on DD and the manager to implement. Don't blame Turner if he wants to play SS as long as he can. A good manager navigates this type of situation after the GM tells him it is the best choice for the team.
He also likes Crawford's defense more than most. Even if it is less advanced now than he says, I think it is important that the Phillies give him the job and let him play CF 5 or 6 times a week. I'd prefer Rojas as the backup over Grichuk to take away the incentive to play someone else.
