NL MVP ANNOUNCEMENT TOMORROW
The National League Most Valuable Player Award - the final award of the year given by the BBWAA (Baseball Writers Association of America) - will be announced Tuesday, November 20 (tomorrow) at 2:00 p.m. EST.
Jimmy Rollins, 28, the Phillies shortstop who this year became the first player in Major League history to have 200 hits, 15 triples, 25 home runs and 25 stolen bases in the same season, has already won a Rawlings Gold Gove and a Silver Slugger award for his fine season and is considered a strong candidate to win the MVP.
Rollins is currently in Los Angeles. If he wins the award tomorrow, he will be available via satellite at 4:00 p.m. EST (coordinates below). While the feed can be picked up from anywhere, it is important to note that anyone wishing to ask Rollins a question will need to be in the Phillies media room on the basement level of Citizens Bank Park.
For sound bites, the mult box will be in operation to pick up both the questions and Rollins' answers. Satellite feeds will only have Rollins' answers. TV stations which have fiber connections to Citizens Bank Park can also find the feed - with questions and answers - on their Press/Media Room connections.
If Rollins does not win the award, there will be no satellite availability.
