List of some prospects who didn't make Winkelman's list but are worth watching this summer:
Yacksel Rios [25] - blew through Reading and Lehigh, 17K in 16 ML innings. Probably start in Lehigh this year (with Hunter, Neshak and Ramos, not much room for a RH RP, though if they keep 8 he has a shot, along with Arano)
Ricardo Pinto [24] - struggled in the bullpen at the ML level, but was only 23 and that was his first stint as a RP. Velocity jumped in the pen, and he's certainly worth watching to see if he adjusted better in his second BP season.
Austin Davis [25] - LH RP with good velocity are rare, but he's got control problems.
Deivi Grullon [22] - given that ML catchers average about .700 OPS, with his plus fielding skills, Grullon just needs to develop a passable bat, and he didn't look overmatched in his Reading cameo at 21.
Malquin Canelo [23] - disappointing year at the plate in Reading, but he walks at a good rate, and was only 22. As a plus fielding SS he just has to get a bit stronger, make better contact, incremental improvements to become a decent hitter to have value.
Zach Coppola [24] - 4.09 home to first, small (5'10 160 out of college), good half year in Clearwater, struggled at Reading. Slap hitter who has to slap better.
Jacob Waguespack [24] - converted to a starter in Clearwater, as his FB velocity jumped from 88-92 to 91-94 t96. A mechanics tweak, at 6'6 225 he certainly has the body for sustained velocity. Jumped to Reading and did well there, a real under the radar guy.
Tyler Viza [23] - rough season at Reading at 22 years old, but the fact they had him start 26 games suggests there's something there they like and are willing to let him pitch through his struggles.
Jeff Singer [24] - another underdog story, signed out of the independent baseball, LH RP 94-95 has a shot. Lights out at Clearwater but struggled when promoted to Reading.
Alexis Rivero [23] - stalled in Reading, but 94-97 with a solid slider could turn it around quickly.
Seth McGarry [24] - trade pickup, 8th rd pick out of college by Pittsburgh, had a nice FSL season, sinking FB 92-95
Luke Leftwich [24] - meh stuff as a starter, but converted to bullpen, 96K in 80 innings at Clearwater
Harold Arauz [23] - another starter moved to the bullpen with good success
Nick Fanti [21] - lacks the ML FB right now, but had great success at Lakewood, though his splits are pretty even, his K rate fell off on the road. Clearwater will be a good test.
Will Hibbs [24] - big boy, 6'7 245, mid-90s FB, if they teach him a slider watch out.
Colby Fitch [23] - 16 BB/17K in 69 AB at Lakewood in his debut, has a little pop and is a catcher'
Darick Hall [23 in late July] - 29 HR in 452 AB, Lakewood really suppressed his power, road split .298/.363/.640/1.003
Maurico Llovera [22] - short but stout, 92-95, t97, started the years as a RP, finished as a starter, pitched well until he seemed to run out of steam in August
Edgar Cabral [22] - really didn't hit well at Lakewood, nor on the road, but then had a good month in Clearwater, go figure. A catcher who might have a hit tool. Was sent to the AFL. 48% success rate (44-of-91) throwing out baserunners between Lakewood and Clearwater this year.
Cole Stobbe [21] - while the luster has worn off, he was a 3rd rd pick and did show flashes at Williamsport. Has to make contact or he'll go the way of Sandberg, promise without production.
Greg Pickett [21] - big, strong LH 1B, hit better in high rookie after awful start two years ago at GCL, then missing a season. He'll have to turn it up a couple notches, but the potential is there.
Anton Kuznetsov [20] - had ridiculous GCL numbers, worth watching just because
Keudy Bocio [19] - a mere $70K, and only 5'10 161, but showed great plate discipline in both the DSL and at GCL. If he can add some strength could become a prospect at 3B.
Jakob Hernandez [22] - only because he's 6'4 290 and a LH RP.
Cesar Rodriquez [17] - $500K catcher
Nicholas Torres [18] - $665K 2B
Carlos Betancourt [17] - $500K pitcher
Victor Vargas [17] - $525K pitcher
Alfonso Puello [17] - $460K pitcher
