I posed this question deep down another thread and didn't really get any feedback. I figured I would try again here.

Where do you live? If there was a get-together this summer at a Phillies game for us as a group, would you be interested in going?

I'm not longer local, moved to NH years ago, but wholeheartedly endorse having a get together for a Phillies game. It is a lot of fun to go with a group of friends to CBP. I may not be there in person, but would be in spirit.

I'm in Western NC but not for long. I will be back in Harrisburg PA in early August.

I am probably the closest or second-closest person to CBP (depending where Dirk41 lives). We might even be able to get the group rate!

Yes. Though I live in NEPA my daughter lives in South Philly, so it’s not a problem. We are going to the June 6 Phillies game in Pittsburgh as I’ve never been to their gorgeous ballpark. Tickets are cheaper, too!

ah man I gotta plan ahead for a Pittsburgh trip sometime. can't do that one. I'm also going to be in NYC when the Mets are here (this time, anyway).

We could probably just as easily get a list group to the Iron Pigs.

Schilling fan, I was just in Cleveland and could believe the seat I got for like $80. Basically, 5 rows behind the dugout in a padded seat.

I want to go see the Iron Pigs tomorrow night but no one else can go and while I don’t mind doing stuff alone, it is a school night.

I wanted to go too, and I knew that was probably gonna be the Painter start. Family plans intervened. If it had turned out to be Thursday I probably would have made it happen.

I prefer Saturday night games in July and August, since the heat can be brutal in day games. September should be day games, #ince it can be cold in September.

CBP is an hour drive for me. I’d be up for a game in July/August/September if it fits my schedule. Like SF I’d really not want to go to a day game in August.

Well, that preference, especially if weekdays don't work for enough people, makes it really easy to narrow down: July 19, August 23 or August 30. Otherwise it's Friday nights and Sunday afternoons. Day game on July 4.

I don't think it's cold at all in September these days though. 61 was the lowest night temp last year, and it was close to 80 during the day half the month.

I walk to the R5, transfer to the Broad St. line, and get to CBP without even getting in my car.

I'm retired now, so a day game would be fun.

Everything is on the chopping block, but yes, what used to be the Main Line R5 probably more than most. The current proposed cuts would completely eliminate the Paoli-Thorndale service as of January, with only bus and Norristown high speed rail to fill it in. Lansdale-Doylestown would only have trains every two hours (and none after 9pm, as with the entire regional rail system).

Yes, SEPTA has proposed dropping service on track owned by Amtrak where it pays usage fees, which includes Paoli-Thorndale (R5). The mass transit we have here in Philly is the envy of other cities, with infrastructure connecting all ends of the Delaware Valley to each other. It would be tragic to lose this service.
