Nola was smokin' but he had a couple guys where he'd lose the K zone, like walking Darvish on 4 pitches, and a couple pitches that were just off. Otherwise he had it going, wicked curve, 4 seamer hitting 95, some really nice changeups, but the 2 seamer was off, not with the usual break and command.
Darvish was interesting to watch, he's an American league pitcher, pitches backward, setting up his fastball with his off speed stuff. FB was 92-95 until the 6th, when he started pumping at 97. He has an assortment of pitches but nibbles a lot and you can see why he struggles to pitch past the 6th, runs a lot of deep counts. He's a good pitcher, but far from elite. It's a good FB but a bit straight.
The Alien got the Dodgers with his large anal probe. Actually fouled off ball 4 a couple times, but forced Baez to give him something to hit, same thing he did to Darvish earlier, and both times delivered.
Altherr's HR was a line drive into the LF stands through a howling wind.
