Well... It's not as if the comment that "they haven't won a series since early April" wasn't in the overall context of a board environment that has been treating every lost game as a disaster. Essentially no opportunity to bewail the demise of the franchise has been missed.
It's almost funny (almost). If the Phils win a game, people are...OK with that. If the Phils lose a game... the season is doomed. The window is closing.
Baseball is supposed to be entertainment. But the sense of entitlement that I see every time a game doesn't result in a win is getting really off-putting. The idea that 2024 was a failure, notwithstanding winning the division and coming within a hair of the best record in the league...we are not entitled to a World Series title.
I'm tempted to decree, "No whining!" But frankly, it sometimes seems that's all there is here.
