It will be interesting to see how they handle the Nats series with the #1 seed still in play. #2 should be wrapped up by then. But there's really no reason to skip anybody's starts with five full days off. Most of the pitchers will end up with six or seven days of rest. If the last two games are meaningless they'll still want most of the relievers to get work too.

I thought it was great what he said to JT on the countdown. I can't ask you about the games remain because we don't know how many we will play. it will be fun to hear that again (hopefully to the end of the World Series.

Having the tiebreaker vs the Dodgers does help.

Three vs the Cubs at home and the last three vs the Nats on the road. Day off in between.

I agree on letting the pitchers stay on their normal routine and running out a semi-normal lineup. If they want to rest Harper due to his injuries or Realmuto so the #2 catcher gets some swings, no problem.

It helps, but I assume we'll be one behind them on Monday (figure we go 1-1 in NY and they go 2-0 in Denver. But maybe that's not how it will go.

Then it's CUBS (home) @Nats for us and PADRES (home) @Rockies for them. A home sweep for us would be nice though that series will include the 5th starter turn.

Hopefully we do lead them by 1 before (de facto 2) before the final series and can pretty much chill or even win one game with a B line-up.

Clearly the best path is to be #2 and for the Dodgers to lose in NLDS. Hard to pick your opponent either way

A Cave double helped add 2 runs in the top of the ninth. A single and two walks loaded the bases in the bottom of the ninth before Max Muncy struck out to end the game.

Brewers woke up today, barely (they were down 8-0 and 9-6 before winning it 10-9). Dodgers are in trouble at home against Colorado for what would be their second home loss to the Rox. Yamamoto got rocked early though Rox just stranded three in the top of the sixth in a 5-1 game (after plating one, I think).

Phillies Magic number for #2 looks fairly certain to remain the same (2). West Coast game haven't started yet.
