I think they are still gonna sign a bigger bat for the bench and DH rotation too, rather than 5th OF. There's literally no emphasis on defense with this roster, piling on the runs remains their only path. With four guys able to play SS (if not well, assuming Stott will hit some bumps) and no more double-switches, no reason to carry a Maton or Torreyes on top of Camargo and Stott/Didi.
Well, sub Schwarber, but yeah. Still a poor defensive team, and add Segura, JT and even Hoskins to the list of players who can't regress or have an off year. The rotation really seems to be a big concern. Wheeler's probably gonna drop a tick. Suarez almost has to by definition though obviously he's still an upgrade over what the Phillies got last year in the first half (as is Gibson, if a small one). Maybe Nola is better.
It would still be kind of shocking if Dombrowski didn't make one trade. I guess the only x factor at this point is CF can still technically be viewed as open, and/or he could continue trying to make Bohm available in the right deal, as well as Didi or maybe even Segura (though he just likely doesn't get you a starting CF, of which there are few anyway, or starting pitcher on his own).
MLBTR speculated that Laureano, because his suspension is going to cost him a year's service time, may not even be available.
Of the failed prospects (for lack of a better word) I would think Kingery has the best shot, even w/o being on the 40. Moniak needs to play in AAA and Haseley probably does too but either way he doesn't add much to the bench (light hitting, not a great CF, and all three of our starting OFs are now LHBs). Williams or Kingery would at least fit. But so would Soler.
