The Hamels scenario would still be interesting now! I don't think they will move Suarez this year. Next year maybe. And Falter may be a month away from being able to start (two weeks just to come back from this IL stint, two to ramp up from relief).
My guess is we still finish 1-2 games out, and there will be some Kennedy blown saves along the way. "Do something but not too much" was probably the right move in the end, and they did do something for 2022 (but not without losing someone who should have been part of 2022 as well) but it seems to be me the aversion to the CBT is what drove their decisions, more than the quality of the team or the need to hold onto prospects.
I wonder if they would have done the Gibson deal had the Anderson deal happened.
