Back from vacation so more updates galore. Since the last update, we have one more clincher--the IronPIgs--and one more elimination--the Fightin' Phils--while the Threshers continue what has been a real slow crawl to wrapping things up while Crosscutters just keep barely hanging on to life.

AA, Reading, Eastern League
Playoff format: Top two finishers in each division qualify for the playoffs.
Where things stand: Fightin' Phils eliminated from postseason contention.

Short season A, Williamsport, New York-Penn League
Playoff format: Three division winners and one wildcard (best second place team).
Where things stand: Crosscutters eliminated from the Pinckney Division race and in ninth place, 7.5 games back in the wild card.
Elimination number: 2, per MiLB.com.

Rookie, GCL Phillies East, Gulf Coast League
Playoff format: Four division winners make the playoffs, no wild cards.
Where things stand: GCL Phillies East won Northeast Division (season subsequently over)

Rookie, GCL Phillies West, Gulf Coast League
Playoff format: Four division winners make the playoffs, no wild cards.
Where things stand: GCL Phillies West finished in second place in Northwest Division

Where things stand: Fightin' Phils eliminated from postseason contention.

Advanced A, Clearwater, Florida State League
Playoff format: Split season in which division winner of first half faces division winner of second half. In the event that the first half champion repeats, the team with the next best overall record gets a playoff berth as a wild card.
Where things stand: Daytona won first half title in FSL North Division. Threshers are 4.5 games in first place over Lakeland for the second half title. The Threshers also have the best season overall record in the division by 1.5 games over Lakeland and only trail Palm Beach by percentage points for best overall record in the league.
Magic number: 4, per MiLB.com

Full season A, Lakewood, South Atlantic League
Playoff format: Split season in which division winner of first half faces division winner of second half. In the event that the first half champion repeats, the team with the next best overall record gets a playoff berth as a wild card.
Where things stand: Blue Claws won first half title and clinched postseason berth. And, for the record, their magic number is 3 to clinch the second half title as well. Suffice to to say, they have, by far, the best season overall record in the division and league.

Playoff format: Split season in which division winner of first half faces division winner of second half. In the event that the first half champion repeats, the team with the next best overall record gets a playoff berth as a wild card.
Where things stand: Daytona won first half title in FSL North Division. Threshers are 5 games in first place over Lakeland for the second half title. The Threshers also have the best season overall record in the division by 2 games over Lakeland and only trail Palm Beach by percentage points for best overall record in the league.
Magic number: 3, per MiLB.com (can clinch as soon as today with a win and St. Lucie doubleheader sweep over Lakeland)

Congratulations to Clearwater! That's four of our seven stateside affiliates making the postseason in their respective leagues. And, three of them--LHV, CLW & LKW--have clinched or are in the running for best record in their league.

AAA, Lehigh Valley, International League
Playoff format: Three division winners and best second place team make the playoffs.
Where things stand: IronPigs win IL North Division title. IronPigs also clinch best record in the league so, as a result, they will face the wildcard in the first round of the playoffs with homefield advantage in the five game series.

It's a wrap for 2018! Congratulations and best wishes to the IronPigs, Threshers and BlueClaws as well as a nod to GCL Phillies East for a fine season! LHV, CLW and LKW all finished with the best records in their leagues, or very, very close to it. LHV did it mostly with AAAA players, smoke and mirrors but CLW and LKW being tops in their leagues must be encouraging. Assuming all these guys move up a level, REA should be an interesting team to watch next season while CLW is strong again. Tough to read how LKW will be though (GCL teams were good, WPT was not).

Where things stand: IronPigs won IL North Division title. Will face wildcard Scranton/Wilkes-Barre in the first round of the playoffs (best of five series) with homefield advantage..

AA, Reading, Eastern League

Where things stand: Fightin' Phils finished in third place out of the poststeason.

Advanced A, Clearwater, Florida State League
Playoff format: Split season in which division winner of first half faces division winner of second half. In the event that the first half champion repeats, the team with the next best overall record gets a playoff berth as a wild card.
Where things stand: Threshers won North Division second half title. Will face first half champion Daytona in the first round of the playoffs in a best of three series. Daytona has homefield advantage. Threshers finished with the most wins in the FSL and missed the best overall record in the league by percentage points.

Full season A, Lakewood, South Atlantic League
Playoff format: Split season in which division winner of first half faces division winner of second half. In the event that the first half champion repeats, the team with the next best overall record gets a playoff berth as a wild card.
Where things stand: BlueClaws won Northern Division first half title and captured the second half title as well. BlueClaws will face Kannapolis and have homefield advantage in the best of three series. BlueClaws finish with SAL's best record..
