Multiple inning guy too. Seems like reliable middle relief for hopefully modest cost. Maybe they are even thinking they'll have to do more bullpen games in the next couple of months.

I like Bergolla, but he seems blocked here in Philly by multiple higher-ranked prospects. Good luck to him.

Tanner Banks has recorded more than 3 outs in 16 of his 41 appearances. 55 K’s in 48 innings. Would give the Phillies a 4th lefty in the bullpen and push guys like Yunior Marte and Jose Ruiz down the depth chart. Banks isn’t eligible for free agency until after 2028.

"gets obliterated by righties" doesn't sound promising for a multi-inning reliever. But this does also sound like a hedge against the short-term rotation depth issue.

It does seem a lot but I imagine the Phillies are starting to get nervous about filling innings the rest of the way knowing that Turnbull and Walker are big unknowns and probably thinking that Phillips is a bit of a first time around the league mirage (as Mercado was). Don't think they saw much from Kolby Allard to suggest they want to rely on him either.

Bergolla certainly has a good hit tool. Just don't know if there is enough speed, power, and defense (all 3) to be a starter though. This is why we spend money in Latin America. So we can acquire average middle relievers!

Overpay. Bergolla might not be worth $2M, but he's on track to be a solid starting 2B, good hit tool, good plate discipline, filling out that frame and adding enough pop to be credible. Limited to 2B, but a solid prospect there.

He's probably going to be blocked by Stott ahead of him, and Caba and Miller right behind him, but I'd think he'd have more value than this.

It is pretty apparent that Bergolla did not have more value. A Ben Revere type without much speed and average defense just does not look like more than a utility player in the majors.

Saltiban is a talented long-shot, same with Rincon and Pouaka-Grego
all have struggled too much to project them right now

Brito isn't a real prospect. Who is Jose Hernandez?

I think Escobar is more a 3B, though he could probably move to 2B
