Hernandez and McCutchen are the best table-setters in the lineup (highest OBP not slated for the 3-4 holes). Put them at the top of the order, followed by the big RBI guys (highest OPS, highest SLG) - Harper and Hoskins. I'd structure the lineup from there down on the basis of OPS.

You could switch Hernandez and McCutchen to alternate L-R-L bats, but I think McCutchen's greater pop in the leadoff spot outweighs that, generally.
Similarly, you could switch Hoskins and Harper in 3-4, to move the LH bat, but I don't think this would make a lot of difference.
The downside to this is that the lineup really does tail off in 7-8, if the past two seasons' data reflect what we can expect from Herrera and Franco. But that doesn't mean I want to diminish the effectiveness of the top 2/3 of the lineup by putting a stiff in there (so I can move a better hitter to the 8-hole).
To be honest, if Franco's two-season numbers are the real Franco (OPS+ of 91), given that we're not talking about tolerating his bat because of his defense...if that's the real Maikel Franco, he needs to be outta here. Mediocre defense? I want an OPS+ of 110 or better (e.g., 10% better than league-average bat). Below-average defense plus below-average bat? No - if we can expect an OPS+ that's 10% below average from third base... well, we can carry that, but give me an outstanding defender with that disappointing bat, OK?
Maybe Franco's better than the past two seasons? He was a bit better in 2018, after being below average in 2016, and horrible in 2017. His career OPS+ is 96, and most of the good in that was his half-season in 2015.
