Makes sense but I think the Phillies are the big x factor. If they don't win the World Series, sure. If they win it in five, sure. Otherwise you'd almost have to combine them, even a small parade would be lot to have one day before or after a giant one.

The Portland Thorns, as in the past, are only having an in-stadium celebration for winning the NWSL.

The Union lost the final just now. on penalty kicks against LAFC.

Heartbreaking end. First, LAFC scores a last minute goal and then win on the penalty kicks. Sigh.

I didnt get a chance to watch the game but this undersells it from my understanding.
The game went to extra time which is typically two periods of 15 minutes. So it should end after 120 minutes. With maybe 1 to 2 minutes added for stoppages.
The Union took the lead after 124 minutes which would normally be so late into stoppage time that there is no way there's any time left.
LaFC scored the equaliser after 128 minutes.
Turns out the LA goalkeeper broke his leg trying to stop a Union attack and received a red card while being stretchered off and that led to the lengthy delay required for 8 minutes of added time.
The Union then missed all of their penalties

It was an insane game. There was 7 minutes of stoppage time from the first 90 and 9 in the extras. The Union's penalty kicks were terrible, but that's penalties for ya. Union's goalie actually stopped the first one, I really thought they were gonna have the edge from there, but no. And it wasn't even LA's starter by then, obviously. Both third goals were pretty amazing. Union played awfully well as the road team especially after going down 1-0, but, well.
