How do you embed twitter links?

OK, here's an attempt:

Open the tweet, paste link. Pretty simple!

I use Tweetbot (app on the iPhone and on the Mac) rather than the Twitter app, or the Twitter website. I pop up the menu on each tweet, select "copy link to Tweet," and just paste that (what's now on the clipboard) into the post - and the board converts it to the pretty graphic.

Or easier, depending on what you want to quote. It's a bit more to do, if you want to quote the entire post. It's a whole lot easier, if you want to quote an excerpt from the post, rather than the whole thing.

You can probably guess which I consider "better form."

I agree that it's easier. I often only like to quote parts of posts, so I would highlight what I didn't want and delete. It makes more sense to highlight what you want to quote than what you don't want to quote.

One question. How does the Order of threads go? When you choose "latest" you get it in order of threads based on those most recently replied to, like we did in the old Phorum. When you choose "top" it seems a random order of threads.

@csnyder - Can you shed some light? "Latest" lists topics in reverse chron, based on last activity. "Unread" is self-explanatory. "New" lists new topics (excludes pre-existing topics that might have new activity). What does "Top" do?

EDIT: Per the "tool tip" that pops up if you hover over the button: "The most active topics for the past year, month, week, or day." When you show the "Top" topics, you get a pull-down menu (upper right, below the Categories-New-Latest-Top navigation buttons) that lets you pick the time period you want to see. You can then click on column headers (Replies, Views) to sort the list.

Well, I don't know how the picture got where it is.... In any case, I'm here and still acclimating. I guess I would prefer the latest posts to be at the top rather than the bottom.

But seriously - go to your preferences (click on the purple "O" in the blue bar at the top of the page, then click on the little sproket icon that appears underneath the "O." This opens your preferences. Where it says "profile picture," click on the pencil icon. This opens a dialog box. Click on "upload picture," find your picture on your computer, and tell it to "open" or "upload." That should do it. To get back to the home page, type "g" and "h" (Go Home).

I guess I am still not used to it, judging by how long it was before I saw this thread! In general I am good with it although I need to take some more time to be able to come up with any constructive comments.
