First baseman/outfielder Darin Ruf agreed to a one-year contract with the Milwaukee Brewers on Monday, two days after he elected free agency rather than accept an outright assignment to the minor leagues with the San Francisco Giants.
And he replaced Voit, who went on IL. Clearly the Phillies, no doubt correctly, are perfectly happy with their fringe extra 1B options. Maybe they always suspected Bryce would be back fast too. But a RHB is still kind of missing. That's Harrison's spot.

Tommy Joseph, meanwhile, is a 31 year-old High A hitting coach in Oregon.
Cabrera is the last active player to have played at the Vet (and Jack Murphy/Qualcomm in San Diego).

I realize that 31 is not young in baseball, but how is Singleton only 31?
Well, he was just fairly young when he debuted right? Doesn't seem that odd though, given it's been 12 years since Hunter Pence was acquired.
