Long after '08, Frandsen and Revere and Papelbon ended up on the Nats too. And before that, who can forget the Endy Chavez/Marlon Byrd trade? Because there's so little history there it seems the rivalry doesn't get in the way of deals the way it might with Atlanta and the Mets (not that those deals haven't happened too).

Flash started out as the Phillies closer but pulled up lame fairly early and when Alfonseca didn't work out while Myers struggled in the rotation, they moved Myers there. Sometimes it amazes me that the 2007 Phillies did what they did with that Almighty-awful pitching staff.

Flash's 2008 season was over after July 5 but, hey, he got a ring! Interestingly, though he pitched in parts of 21 seasons going back to 1988, he never pitched in a WS. Being on the bench in '08 was the closest he ever came. I do remember seeing him in the parade with his arm in a sling.

He last pitched in 2009 with the Diamondbacks. Too bad he was not able to stretch himself into one more season, that being 2010. That would have made him a rare four decade guy.

Gose used to touch 98 from the left side in high school. Some teams had rated high higher as a pitcher but he wanted to play every day as I recall.

Bourn had an opt-out but he was released twice last season. More surprised that Bourjos fetched even cash when there are so many players coming available.

Jimmy would be a nice addition to the TV broadcast team which has been pretty mediocre of late.

Jimmy will end up on ESPN or MLB for sure. I can't see him spending enough time in Philly (or working enough days) to do local.

These guys also tend to take their time making it official, my guess is the red-cap press conference isn't until 2018.

It was a mistake for him to not play somewhere, even the minors, the rest of last year. Don't see how you can bounce back at his age and with those numbers after six months of not touching a bat or ball in a competitive environment.
