Jake Thompson has been released by his south Korea team and is looking for an opportunity back in the states.......
Released from his Korean team at his request, or because of non-performance?
If the latter - if he's not effective in Korea - why would we think he could help a MLB club?
I assume in this case David was merely passing on news, not suggesting Jake Thompson belongs on the Phillies (or anybody's) 40-man roster. (Even if he has made that case for more than a few fringe Iron Pigs.) I'm sure he can still find himself a job pitching for a team that needs AAA filler.
Thompson was 2-3 with a 4.74 ERA in 11 games for Korea. 1.23WHIP
Thanks, bkox. Suggests he left Korea by his own choice.
I had high hopes for Thompson as bullpen anchor at one time. He was constantly called up, sent down, in the pen, in the rotation....
But mostly he was a wildly disappointing starter before he ever threw a pitch in a relief or got yo-yoed. Arguably the most valuable piece of the Hamels trade at the time.
Tigers Sign Jake Thompson To Minor League Deal
Let's get Boyd and help the kid out
Thompson is back where he started. Tigers 2nd round pick in ‘12.
The Tigers also had Jason Thompson and Justin Thompson.
Raul Ibanez is apparently a candidate to be the Giants' next manager:
Dodgers special assistants do make the best managers.

I don't even have to follow the link to know what this is. I feel we're going to be sad the Phillies gave up on him.
What does tweet say. I don’t have Twitter account.
Crawford making an incredible crazy play at shortstop. It's a film clip.
you don't need a Twitter account to see tweets though it will give you an annoying pop-up offering you one first.
Only one comment required...WOW. That's about as good as it possibly can get. I don't think I've ever seen a better play.
Here's the clip, from Youtube:
