That's kind of a Kingery deal. I guess cost certainty for a player that at worst will be a good defensive infielder but who also has some minor league hitting success.

Scott Boras loses one unhappy client:

LHP Jordan Montgomery has hired Wasserman’s Joel Wolfe & Nick Chanock as his agents, per sources.

Montgomery was one of the Boras Four, who were unsigned late into free agency.

I projected he would get 5 yrs, $106M and he eventually signed for 1 yr, $25M w/Arizona on March 26.

Mizuhara had helped Ohtani, who did not speak or understand English, set up his bank account in 2018 in Arizona and "used that familiarity" to later steal the funds from Ohtani to help pay for illegal sports bets, the DOJ alleged. He is accused of wiring more than $16 million in unauthorized transfers from Ohtani's checking account from November 2021 to January 2024, the DOJ said. He is also accused of impersonating Ohtani over the phone with the bank to approve wire transfers to the bookmakers, the DOJ said.

Great example of incompetence and arrogance by Hunter Wendelstedt. He should face disciplinary action for his behavior. We all can make a mistake, but to show the arrogance shown here deserves a significant punishment. By his own words, he admits that he doesn't care if he is right or wrong.
