Day baseball this morning and not just in the DSL

Every time Roman Quinn successfully plays on a rehab assignment I feel like we have wasted one of the fleeting moments in his life when he is actually healthy.

So I'm not the only one who thinks this way...I felt like that about Sixto--let him throw in the big leagues, he can already get those guys out.

I guess the counter point is he's not necessarily going to have to give maximum effort on a rehab assignment. He's less likely to get hurt busting up the first base line or stealing second against minor leaguers. He's probably not gonna run into a wall in CF.

But they also do need him to hit, not just be the 25th man (which is already not really a thing with four-man bench). Going 0-10 in his first three major league games if they rushed him wouldn't be good for anyone.

Of course if most players came back and got hurt immediately we'd say they rushed him, but it's Roman Quinn so...

He stole third in one game and tripled in the next, I believe. Seems to be going all out.

I'm not saying he's not trying but if he was in the majors he might not have hit the triple - or he might have been thrown out at third.

I mean, I get the premise. But I don't truly think it helps him or helps the team to rehab in the big leagues. You're not wasting good healthy ABs because he wouldn't necessarily be good.

If he is ready soon I wonder if they will bounce Williams again or finally expose Gosselin to waivers.

I don't know...watching Bohm play 3B I think he's already better than Franco. He's not going to win a gold glove in the near future, but I think he'd be OK, and he's not moving Rhys off of first.

The Phillies and the Cubs may be in a similar situation. Chicago has Bryant and Rizzo; the Phillies have Bohm and Hoskins. Both Rizzo and Hoskins need to be a 1B which puts Bryant/Bohm at 3B where they are OK but not great or in LF. Now if the NL goes with the DH, the situation is resolved.

Also depends on Harper but he's looking good for a few years (and could also move to left).
