It's two days, plus the playoffs. It's unfortunate - and you could argue that cancelling games at this point is premature, but it's not as if they necessarily play these games to win, anyway.

The GCL announcement indicates that games through tomorrow (Thursday) will be played. Friday and Saturday games, and the playoffs, are cancelled.

Howard was 95-97, with seemingly just as much confidence in his change. The problem is that he used to have an above average slider and solid curve, but he’s stopped throwing the slider and his curve has become loopy.

It is probably the timing. GCL ended earlier so the playoffs would be right around the hurricane forecast. FSL playoffs a week later I think.

And the FSL is a real league that has 1000 (or even 2000?) people who will be attending those games.

Do these GCL kids go home after the season is over or hang around? If the former I would think they've already got flights and expiring accomodations too. Whatever limited umpires and staff are involved probably have to get on with their lives too. Plus they may have to evacuate in the meantime.
