Gowdy through 5 shutout innings with only 60 pitches. These AM travel day games really move fast. I am wondering if Gowdy will belong in the conversation about our best pitching prospects alongside Medina, Howard, and Morales by the end of the year.

I'm not there yet. Disappointed in most of the hitters but happy with Bohm and Muzziotti. Pitching has been really good for the most part. De Los Santos, Irvin, Medina, Dohy, Damon Jones, Howard, Gowdy, etc.

Two hitters in the whole system and they are in Low A and High A, one of whom is 23 y.o.

I’m still optimistic that Grullon could be a serviceable ML catcher, and I’m hoping that de la Cruz continues to hit like he has since the first few days of the season. Gamboa and Brito are particularly disappointing (beyond our embarrassing Reading first round OF).

I realize I’m being pretty negative, but seems to me we might have plunged to a bottom 5 system, which means this is the team we have to ride with with the next few years...which may not be enough.

When do they give Irvin a shot? As some point he's done all he can do in AAA.

A shot at what? No room in the rotation, no room on the 40 for the moment. Barring injuries/disaster probably won't happen until trade season shakes out the 40 further (assuming he's not one of the people traded).
