Seabold leaves after a pretty dominating 5 innings but with 2 runners charged to him. Aaron Brown comes in and pours gas on everything and Clearwater is down 5-0. Clearwater has all of one hit.

Seabold and Rosso will both be pitching at the next level by June, IMHO. Got to see both of them in person last year.

Sadly there are no hitters whose performance near the end of last year or start of this year (SSS, I know) give much hope of the same.

IPs win 2-0 behind Thompson and a raft of relievers. The guys who we want to see hit, like Valentin and Pullin, are very down right now, but the IPs are hanging in.

While most of the talk for the upcoming draft seems to focus upon pitchers, our need for young position players who can hit seems very critical right now. The 0-3 on 3 first round pick outfielders is becoming noticeable. fortunately we have perhaps two budding superstars in Kingery and Hoskins who were below the level of first round picks who soften the impact of the three lost outfielders.

I've always viewed Moniak as something of a signability pick considering where he was drafted. They tried to emulate what the Astros did earlier this decade with taking a cheaper 1-1 and using the savings to sign other guys downdraft. However, that strategy appears to be be blowing up in their faces so far as Moniak has totally flopped, Gowdy got hurt and Stobbe hasn't exactly set the world on fire either. However, Romero and Irvin look promising.
