What do you think they tell themselves as an organization? That it’s a scouting problem? A development problem? I kind of assume Klentak’s view of it is “just give it time, it will get better...if not this year, then next. But maybe the year after that”

Other than switching up their coaching staff which they've done what is it you'd like them to do overnight?

The process of changing the organizational philosophy just stated in December.

I know there is no cookie cutter approach for everyone, but presumably a tweak is all it would take to unlock talent in a good hitter that through spring and the first month of the season would start to manifest - and I think it has for Bohm (and maybe Haseley) but there are a whole lot of other big bonus guys not showing signs of life.

This doesn't seem like a binary issue to me. I think it's true that Klentak inherited a bad scouting and development apparatus that he's been slow to overhaul, which will take more time. And that doesn't really bother me though I think it's fair to criticize the pace. It's also true that a lot of big picks and signings - at this time - are uninspiring, regardless of why that's the case (blame scouting, blame development, blame this front office, blame the last front office up to a certain point).

Regardless, the reality probably is that there are a lot of busts, either because the talent wasn't there or they don't fit in to the new regime's approach.

To some extent Klentak's actions at the major league level have told us that already. He signed two corner OFs and traded for a catcher and a SS while giving up on younger players at all of those positions. Part of that is just to accelerate the major league winning but it also signals he didn't like what he had, or what's coming.

I think it’s reasonable to start seeing the benefits of tweaks in 2 months. If everyone needed a complete overhaul, then yeah, it would take more than 2 months.
