Jake Holmes gets to play 3B on a bit more regular basis at Lakewood, though Cole Stobbe and now Hunter Stovall (who also plays 2B and OF) are on the team too. I am guessing Stovall plays mainly in the OF to start. Hopefully the more regular playing time and defensive responsibilities will help Holmes settle down on offense.

Matt McBride pitched the ninth for the IPs tonight. Not a successful outing, but he's arguably been better than Dohy, who is in some weird slump.

That was the hope with Bohm as a pretty polished college bat. Hopefully Lakewood was merely low pressure swing tweaking as a high number one should finish in AA this year and be knocking on the door early next year.

This should be true of a mature college bat. Not always the case, but it often is for players "destined" to become above average or better.

From the early reports they were working on his swing...I think if he had stayed in Lakewood through July I would have become concerned but i'm not losing sleep over 80 at bats.

Let's hope he tears it up and they need to find room for him soon!
