Johan Rojas, OF, 17, hitting .295 with a .376 OBP and leading off
Wilfredo Flores, SS, just turned 18, also hitting for a decent average and walking, batting second
Freddy Francisco, catcher, 17, leads team in doubles, batting cleanup
Christopher Duran, SS, 17, good glove, not hitting yet, high bonus
Efrain Morales, P, 17 leads team in ERA, more than a K/IP

There are several other young guys here who are overmatched right now.

WHITE
Engel Estevez, P, 18, 5 starts with a good WHIP and ERA
Israel Puello, P, 17, 5 starts, solid ERA, very low WHIP
Carlos Betancourt, 17, 3 starts, low ERA despite lots of baserunners
Juan Geraldo, P, 17, unlucky but about a K/IP in 4 starts
Carlos Mendoza, OF, 17, good power with lots of walks
Arturo DeFreitas, C, 17, walks and a bit of power

Red Team playing quite a few 19-year-olds who are generally not prospects in the DSL

Meanwhile in CLW, another two hits for Haseley who is now batting over .300. Jordan hinted in the Inquirer this morning that Haseley may also be on the move soon. “Adam, for me, is right where he needs to be,” Jordan said. “I like what he is doing and some point of time his performance will probably tell us he needs another challenge and if that happens, great.”

The two big (i.e. $400K+) bonuses were Puello and Betancourt so those are the top pitching prospects most likely. I think the top non-catcher hitting bonus from last year there was Jefferson Encarnacion who has had a pretty rough debut.

The other thing is to keep looking at the 16 and 17 year olds who start. So Christian Hernandez and Manuel Urias (6'6" Mexican who got a late start) are probably worth watching on the pitching side.

On the hitting side Cesar Rodriguez was a high bonus at catcher ($500K). Would not be concerned with the 582 OPS from a 17-year-old catcher. Oscar Gonzalez was another named bonus ($135K) at catcher though he has played more 1B than catcher. Luigi Mujica is a high bonus guy from last year that is doing a bit better though more of a 2B than SS.

Mostly second tier prospects but obviously 17-year-olds can get better. The 2 best from this year (Luis Garcia, Victor Vargas) went straight to GCL along with unheralded Daniel Vilchez.
